“I am bad, and that’s good. I will never be good, and that’s not bad. There’s no one I’d rather be, than me.”
-Ralph, Wreck-It Ralph.
It was that blissful, joy filled time of the year once again.
The birds chirped, the bees buzzed, couples kissed and hugged and held hands everywhere.
Yeah, no, Ellie thought to herself.
For her, Valentine’s Day was just another grim reminder of how she was absolutely, positively single and how she was going to stay that way for a very, very long time.
Okay, it wasn’t Valentine’s Day just yet, but it would be in two days.
That meant that the movies they were showing on TV were sappy ones with Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum and all those actors that almost always had to star in romantic movies.
So to avoid that cheese fest of a marathon that had been running all day on Friday, she'd popped in Wreck-It Ralph and had her own enjoyable marathon.
At first, this movie in particular hadn't caught her attention, and she didn’t know why. She had seen it announced on TV so many times it was starting to get boring.
So she reluctantly sat down to watch it when her parents bought it on DVD.
Boy had she been wrong.
It was an amazing movie.
What she had loved to death was the fact that they had mixed all the video games and made it into a whole world.
Ellie couldn't get over that.
So, what was she planning to do on Valentine’s Day?
Have Lionel over to try on the costumes he had finally obtained.
And the funny thing was that once again, he was the one who had offered to have a costume fitting, on that day.
At first, Ellie thought it was a joke because Valentine’s Day was usually the day when, well, couples got together and did stuff and kissed and…
Yeah.
So Ellie couldn’t understand why he wasn’t seeing his brunette of a girlfriend that day instead of hanging with her.
“Why on Saturday?” Ellie had asked him.
Lionel turned to look at her, eyebrow raised.
“Why not? Are you busy?” he asked.
Ellie breathed deeply, and shook her head.
“No… but it’s Valentine’s Day.” She stated.
“So…? You got a date?” Lionel asked, a big- mocking, if Ellie could say so herself- smile on his face.
She rolled her eyes at this, and once again shook her head.
“No… but I thought you did.” She said.
