25. Your character wakes up remembering nothing. All they have in their hands is an Aladdin Lamp. What happened?
☀ ☀ ☀
“Excuse me. Are you looking at me? Did you rub my lamp? Did you wake me up? Did you bring me here? And all of a sudden you're gonna walk out on me? I don't think so. Not right now! You're getting your wishes, so SIT DOWN!”
-Genie, Aladdin.
“Ellie, Ellie! Get your ass over here, he’s waking up!” Ellie heard Paige’s voice call to her, snapping her out of her thoughts.
She slowly turned around and set her gaze on the blond person lying on the ground in the middle of a busy hallway.
No one had fainted on her before.
Well… okay yes.
One time in the 2nd grade she and Paige were playing with their Barbies in the courtyard and they saw some kid pass out while playing basketball.
Neither of them knew the kid because he was two years above them, but the curious little cats ran to his aid anyway.
The teacher had later told them that he had momentarily passed out because of the heat.
For some reason, Ellie knew Jack hadn’t passed out because of the heat.
Sure, it was March, but it wasn’t hot out. It was just beginning to get nice.
Not to mention the fact that they were indoors with the AC on and…
The point was, Ellie didn’t know why Jack had passed out.
It had only been for about five minutes, anyway.
“Oh, good. We don’t have to drag him to the nurses’ office then.” Ellie heard Evan comment.
She shook her head in disapproval, and neared Jack, who was currently still lying on the ground.
She sighed when she caught a glimpse of the artifact that was clenched in his right hand.
Even when he had fainted, he hadn’t let go of it.
“What the hell?” was the only thing he said as he sat himself up and stared wide-eyed at the people around him (which included Ed, Paige, Celia, Milo, Evan, Ben, Julie and Ellie.)
Ellie opened her mouth to speak, when she saw his gaze fall upon the object in his possession.
“What the hell is this?" he asked as he eyed the Aladdin lamp.
“Is this yours?” he asked Ellie as he extended the lamp towards her.
Ellie furrowed her brow in confusion.
“What Jack?” she asked him.
“I don’t know why I have this. Isn’t it a part of your collection?” he asked her as he shook the lamp, wanting Ellie to take it.
Ellie opened her mouth to speak, but wasn’t sure what exactly she wanted to say.
“You… don’t know how you got this?” she asked him, which earned her a shake of his head.
“You don’t remember, anything at all?” she asked again.
Jack looked at her blankly, but then began to stand up from the floor.
