23. Leaves streak through the air, reminding your character of “Colors of the Wind”. What do they do?

“Sometimes, the right path is not the easiest one.”
-Grandmother Willow, Pocahontas.
“Okay, Liam, when I give you the signal, I want you to turn the fan on, alright?”
Excitement surged through Ellie as she glanced back and forth between the different props that were being set up on stage.
Even though she was completely aware of the fact that her next class was in five minutes, she wanted to stop by the auditorium because she had heard Danny telling their mom this morning that they were starting to set up the stage to see where everything was going to be placed.
She just honestly couldn’t wait to see it.
Even though most of the stagehands were Seniors, she knew most of them because of Sam and her brother.
She stood between a row of red-cushioned seats, and stared, a wide smile on her lips.
“Yeah.” Liam Norton answered Katie Thompson’s question.
“But wait for my signal, we have to wait until Danny over there is done with his trees.”
Ellie glanced over to see her brother crouched down in a corner on the right hand side of the stage.
She didn’t pay much attention to what he was doing.
She was too engrossed in the fact that they were currently setting up the scene for the musical number Kiss the Girl, and honestly, she felt bad because she had underestimated the crew.
Even though they mostly had trees set up and the rowboat in the middle, Ellie thought it looked absolutely magnificent.
It was evident that the team had been putting a lot of effort into the props, and even though it wasn’t her place, she was truly grateful and wanted to throw them a party.
“Katie,” a blond guy in the back who she currently couldn’t remember the name of began to speak, “can I ask again why we need a huge fan for this scene?”
“Because,” Katie answered, “I think it’s really important that they get some wind. Like, wouldn’t it look super romantic if Ariel’s hair is blowing in the wind while she and Eric are just sitting there staring at each other and Sebastian is singing?” she finished, and Ellie could see that she had a somewhat dreamy look in her eyes (well she guessed, because she didn’t have her glasses on and she couldn’t see Katie’s face at all.)
“Well, I don’t think that’s gonna happen because Ellie’s wearing a wig.” Sam’s voice suddenly came from somewhere on the stage.
“So? Wigs can blow through the wind, right Ellie?” Katie turned to glance at her.
Ellie looked back, shrugged and began to nod.
The truth was, she wasn’t really sure about that because she didn’t have the wig… yet.
And she found it really funny because she was the one who had been pressuring Lionel to get his costumes ready.
But that was different because she was almost sure he wouldn’t do it on his own, and Ellie would.
