Deltas Tale-Book 2: Awakening

Chapter 17- No

>Silvers POV<

After Delta talked to Tails, she turned to me and said, "Okay, there's someone named Sucette who could bring us back." I nodded and listened to the plan.
   Suddenly, Deltas hand flashed to her ear. "I copy. Did you get back?" She slightly nodded her head. "Okay.." she mumbled. "They're gonna come get us last." She said as she disconnected. "Why?" I asked.
   "I don't know. Maybe we are the farthest." She replied.
   We sat down on the grass as we waited. After a while, I heard a whooshing sound and turned around. And there stood Tails, Sonic, Knuckles, Espio, Shadow, Ciara, Rouge, And Amy. Amy stood in awe as she gazed across the meadow.
   I turned around and saw why. It was night. The moon had risen and bright fireflies glittered. The long grass shifted slightly on the wind and the sky looked as if a galaxy were above us.
   I turned back to the gang. Getting up, I walked over to them. "Well, are we gonna go or not?" Sonic nodded, shaking out of his thoughts. "Yeah. Cmon guys." The portal opened again. Delta got up and walked through last.

   Delta, Ciara, Shadow, And I walked a little ways behind the others. "Where did you guys end up?" I asked Ciara and Shadow. "Oh..well it's hard to explain, but we went to the past."  Ciara said.
   "Cool." I replied. I've been to the past before, so I don't get amazed about time travel that much anymore. Delta was talking to Shadow about the fighting. "They are getting along well. Same personality." I mumbled to my twin. She laughed quietly and said, "Who knows? They might be trading battle tips next."
  Stifling a laugh, I looked over at them. They seemed deep in conversation. Delta was making hand motions, as if she was swinging a sword, and Shadow was listening intently.
   Suddenly, a rumbling erupted. Not again! We're just about to get back! I ran for it, Shadow, Delta, and Ciara along with me. Focused ahead, I didn't realize until it was too late.
   A thump sounded from the left. I heard a puff and someone scrambling to get up. But I kept running. Whoever it was would have gotten up in time. I saw the Rouge, Amy, Tails, Sonic, Knuckles, And Espio diasappear into a portal.
   Before we reached it, a blood curtailing snap sounded. I saw Ciara whip around. And the horror on her face was as if she witnessed a murder.
   "D-D- Delta!!" She shouted.
   At her name I spun on my heels. My eyes widened as I saw Delta hanging on the edge of a newly made cliff. I ran back towards her.
   As I reached her, she lost her grip. I caught her hand. She looked up at me and I saw something I have never seen in her eyes. Fear.
   I tried to pull her up, but I felt our hands slipping. I grasped her hand tighter. "No. No. N-" I stuttered.

     And then she fell away.

The last thing I remember is being thrown into the portal by Shadow and Ciara, before everything goes black.
