“Can you see them?” I yelled to my best friend over the noise of screaming girls and snapping cameras.

“Not yet,” Miki replied, standing on tip toe over the mass of girls to try to spot our favourite group of boys, the Janoskians.

"Does my hair look ok?" I asked nervously, brushing my golden hair away from my eyes, my heart sinking as I realized I may have no chance with Jai Brooks at all.

You might think that gold isn't a colour for hair, but it is. Mine's  not excactly brown or blonde, but a gold colour that stands out when the sun runs through it.  I have eyes that are a mix of blue and green and my skin is a peachy colour. Instead of tanning, I burn in the summer and freckles usually have a habbit of scattering across my cheeks when I spend lots of time outside.

"Julia, you look beautiful, don't let this situation make you feel the opposite," I gave her a small smile. I had wanted to meet Jai the first time I had watched him on a youtube video, which had involved him barking on a train. I had never laughed so hard in my life.

The line moved up and I took a few steps, peering over the tops of girls heads.

"I have been waiting my entire life to do this," I told Miki, envying her chocolate brown waves with hints of caramel highlights.

"I know me too, and now its finally happening!" she squeezed my hand.

"I'm here, Jai," I whispered. "I am finally going to meet you."

Two hours later we were minutes from meeting the Janoskians. "I think I'm going to be sick," I groaned.

Suddenly a pair of chocolate eyes turned my way, making my heart melt like ice cream in Summer. A smile lit up Jai's face and my heart flip-flopped, he had smiled at me, little old me who thought I never had a chance!

"Julia?" Miki waved her hand in front of my face. "It's our turn!"

"What?"

My feet refused to move, I could feel my face burning. This was the moment I had been waiting for, but somehow my brain was stuck in freeze mode. Taking a deep breath I marched up to the table. Thump thump, went my heart. My smile stretched across my face. I grinned at Skip, James, Beau and Luke who looked hotter and were funnier in real person!

Beau's eyes were a deep green and Skip shot that cute smile at me as he signed the giant poster, this was better than I had ever imagined! I approached the end of the table. There were the same chocolate brown eyes and long, straight fringe. The same guy that barked in public, went pegging and danced behind peoples backs just for the thrill of it. Jai Brooks.

"Jai Brooks," I smiled.

"Who else?" he replied, I laughed. It was like my eyes were glued to his, he tore his away and slowly wrote his signature.

As I leaned across to recieve the poster, he slid a brown braided bracelet off of his tan hand and dropped it into my hand.

"Wait for me afterwards," his lips tickled my ear as I stood back up, my mouth hurt from smiling, but I didn't hesitate to muster up the biggest smile for him. There was no need for words.

As I walked off, my only thought was how in million years I never thought I had a chance with Jai Brooks at all.
