Stanley POV

Bill and I were hanging around for a little while, waiting for Richie and Mike to show up. We didn't really have anything to do, so we were outside on the porch steps with our bikes laying in the yard.

I watch from across the street at the birds that were forming a nest from what it looked like. I've always loved birds, they were my favorite animals, yet my parents forbid me from getting one.

"Suh-Stan?" Bill said, turning to me.

"What's up?"

"I know I've suh-said this before, but should we tuh-tell the others a-about.. us?" He asked. "Wuh-well, I mean, when Ruh-Richie and Mike come..?"

"Only if you want to. But I'd personally rather wait until Eddie's out of the hospital, and when we're all together at once so it won't be confusing." I say.

"O-okay." He says, then he turns his head back to me. "Do you th-think Richie actually likes Euh-Eddie?"

"You're one curious boy." I chuckle a little. "But, you never really liked their relationship- or whatever they had in the first place. I mean, if he didn't, why would he go this far to sacrifice everything for nothing?"

"Th-that's true. But I feel as i-if it isnt real, and it's a-all just f-fake and a joke." He states.

"I'm sure it's not." I put a hand on his knee, rubbing it soothingly.

"I just duh-dont want him to get hurt, more buh-broken than he already is.." He says, placing his hand over mine.

I look up from our hands, down the street to see the other two cycling down. "Speaking of the devil." I comment.

Bill looks up to what I was referring to, and I swear I could've seen him roll his eyes.

"Hey, guys." Mike greets as we both come trotting down the porch steps to our bikes.

"Hey." I say.

"How long do you guys think it will be to get there?" Richie asks.

"Who knows." I shrug.

"Wuh-well, sitting huh-here doing nothing isn't going to guh-get us anywhere." Bill huffed.

Both Mike and Richie nodded, getting on their bikes. I put a hand on Bill's shoulder, him looking at the others.

"What's wrong?" I say in just above a whisper, inaudible to the others.

"Nuh-nothing. Just forget a-about it." He replied, hopping on his bike. I mirrored his actions, soon enough all of us on and ready to cycle to the hospital.

-------

Once we made it to the hospital, we immediately checked in and headed straight to Eddie's room. Bill opens the door to see Eddie staring blankly at the ceiling until turning to us with the corners of his mouth going upwards.

"Hey, guys." Eddie waves with a warm smile. We all spread out around his bed, us greeting him.

"Good news," Eddie starts. "I'm getting out in a couple of days."

"Really? That's amazing." Mike says.

"Yeah. Can't wait to get out of this hell hole." Eddie sighs. I notice Richie frown a little, but didn't comment on it. Not like it is important, anyways.

"Well at luh-least you'll always get to huh-hang out with us." Bill acknowledges.

"It's been really boring in here without company. I mean, nurses come here every hour to check up on me but that doesn't really help." He shrugs.
