It has been a week or two after the quarry incident. Richie was still living with the Wheeler's, Mike insiting him to stay because he has nowhere else to go. Bill has been scoffing a lot recently, in replace of arguing with Richie.

It was a couple of days until Halloween, it being on the Friday of this week. Bill, being the stubborn person he is, reluctantly went with Stanley to go costume shopping, not even wanting to dress up.

"What are you wanting to be for Halloween?" Stanley had asked, walking around the store.

"I duh-don't know." He replied. In truth, he hated this holiday. He didn't understand the fact of being scared for fun or going to strangers houses and asking for candy was smart or ideal.

Who knows, those people could be putting drugs and/or poison in it, yet we wouldn't know until we ate it. And considering that it is children performing the act, makes it worse.

"Well you gotta figure it soon," Stanley says, looking at the variety of costumes. "I'm not planning on staying here the whole day." He half-jokes.

"What are yuh-you going to be?" Bill says, watching Stanley as he eyes down certain costumes that are hanged on the wall.

"Hmm, not sure. I'm debating between a vampire or Frankenstein. I don't know of anything else that really interests me." He shrugs, grabbing the Frankenstein outfit along with a vampire costume that includes a cape.

Stanley holds the costumes up, one in each hand. "Which one?" He asks.

"I duh-dunno. Why don't you try them on, see wuh-which one you prefer." Bill says.

He points his finger at me, "Smart." then makes his way to the dressing room. I took that opportunity to look at the costumes nearby. I honestly had no idea what to be, and I knew that not choosing wasn't an option either.

Stanley would force me to try on some stupid costumes, like a pirate before convincing me (not really) to wear it anyways.

I looked around until a werewolf costume caught my eye. I smirked, knowing it was Richie's biggest fear, other than clowns, which hell if I was dressing up as a clown.

I snatched it off of the rack, returning to the changing room to where Stan had came out of.

'Perfect timing' I thought to myself.

"I decided on Frankenstein." He said, coming out of the small room, putting the vampire one on the discard rack next to the fitting room.

"Aw, you didn't even s-show me?" I teased, smiling.

He rolled his eyes with a grin, "I see you've picked out something yourself?"

"Yeah, wuh-whatever."

Mike's POV

"Come onnn!" I basically yell, pushing at Richie's sides as he was still asleep.

"Five more minutes.." He mumbled, his blanket wrapped around his body keeping him warm.

I rip the comforter off him, Richie whining due to the cold. "You said that an hour ago. C'mon, Rich, it's already noon!" In which he responds in him curling his legs up to his chest.

"Plus, Eddie was asking if you wanted to go costume shopping with him." I say.

And almost immediately, he jolts up and out of bed and fetches himself some clothes, as he was only in a pair of sweats.

"I knew you'd get up from that." I smirked, Richie turning to me with an eyeroll. He grabs his glasses from the nightstand before coming back in my direction.

"You need to get out now." Richie tells me.

"It's my room." I say.

"Yeah well, unless you wanna see me naked-"

"I'm out." I say, and close the bedroom door once I'm out of the room. I can hear him slightly chuckle before I make my way to Nancy's room.

I tap my knuckles on my door before opening it, her glancing at me from her bed, and what seemed her to be drawing something.

"What?" She asks before returning to her sketch.

"Any plans for Halloween?"

"Who doesn't?" She jokes, erasing something on her paper.

"Do you know if mom and dad are going our somewhere too?" I question.

"Why?" Nancy looks up to me from her work.

"Oh, just wondering, that's all."

"I'm pretty sure they were going over to Joyce's for a small party thing."

"So no one's at the house?" I ask.

"Nooo, they're inviting the entire neighborhood overrr." She rolls her eyes. "Yes, of course no one's going to be here, you stupid."

"Okay, that's all I wanted to know." I say just as I was about to leave.

"Why?" Nancy says, stopping me just as I was about to leave. "Having a party?"

"nO, why would you even think that?" I stop to look at her.

She raises her eyebrows, ignoring me and going back to her drawing. I take that as a sign to leave, so I do. By the time I make it to my room, Richie is already ready and changed.

"What time did Eddie say he wanted to go shopping?" Richie asks.

"Oh, I didn't say it was today." I said with a smirk.

"I hate you." He nudges my shoulder as I laugh.

"What? I got you out of bed?" I smile.

He shakes his head disapprovingly, making me laugh again.

"Hey," I say, gaining his attention again.

"How are you up for hosting a party with me?"

Will POV

"Will, honey, I've got your costume made!" Mom calls, probably from the living room.

"Okay, mom! Thanks!" I call back.

It wasn't much of a costume, really. She just tore up some old clothes, got some fake blood and other makeup to complete my zombie outfit.

Eddie and I were currently hanging out in my room, him looking through all of my drawings.

"Wow, you're so good!" He gasped, continuing to flip to the pages in my sketchbook. "Teach me one day." He smiles then looks to me.

"Sure." I reply. "What are you being for Halloween?" I decide to ask.

"A doctor. I've always wanted to become one." Eddie answers.

"Oh that's really cool. What kind of doctor?" I question.

"A surgeon, maybe a cardio or neurosurgeon." He smiles.

"I only know what those mean because of Grey's Anatomy." I laugh.

"Oh, I love that show." He continues to smile.

"Me too." I agree.

"What are you being, again?" Eddie asks.

"A zombie. Couldn't really think of anything else." I shrug.

"That's cool." Eddie says. "Looks like I didn't end up saving your life." He chuckles.

I didn't really understand what he meant at first, but realized he is being a doctor, and zombies are dead, and mentally went 'ohhhhhhh'. I join his chuckle moments later.

"I still haven't gotten my costume yet, though. I was planning to go with Richie tomorrow after school." Eddie explains.

"That sounds fun." I say.

"Yep."
