Mike POV

We all just stood here awkwardly. They were whispering some things that were inaudible to me, so I asked about it.

"What's going on?"

"I don't want to sound like- it was mutual, I- Eddie knew- we just-"

"They broke up." Richie said straight forwardly.

"B-but I don't want you to worry about us, we're completely fine. We just thought it was the best for both of us just to be friends, you know?"

I actually had a chance with Will. My stupid self let me kiss Richie. Was it bad I was thinking about Will while doing so? Like, I know he is definitely not the dominant one, so I tried taking over. I got to carried away to even notice him walking in the bathroom.

I'm so stupid. We could've had something. Now Will probably thinks I like Richie, and if he knew I liked someone, he would never interfere with that.

But I don't. I've liked him for the longest time yet he has never known. It's funny really. Maybe my constant awkwardness around him is just normal to him, from his perspective. He's seen me like that for so long he probably just considers it as one of my traits.

"Oh." Was all I could manage to say.

"Well Will, what do you want me to do? Just, not show up when he asked? I'm going." Richie left before anyone could prevent him from doing so.

"Uhm, I didn't know you liked Richie..?" Will asked, breaking the silence to start up a conversation.

"I don't."

"But you were-"

"I actually don't." I re-stated. "To be honest.. I was thinking of someone else.."

"Who?" Will asked.

"I can't tell you.."

"Why not? We tell each other everything."

"I just- can't."

"Are you sure..?" He questioned again, yet not really the prying type.

"I'm sure."

"If you tell me, I can maybe help you be with that person?" Will tried to convince.

"No, no.. you don't understand."

"Maybe I will if you tell me..?"

"I can't."

"Mike, it's fine, you know me. I've never broken any promises or told anyone any of your secrets. I don't understand why you would have to hide your crush from me."

"If I tell it to anyone it will ruin something I have with whoever I tell them."

"I'm confused. How? Do you like everyone?" Will half-jokingly asked.

"No. It's complicated, Will. I would rather not tell you."

"I want to know, I want to help you with this mystery person."

And that's it. Mystery person. That's the thing about Will. He doesn't jump to conclusions. He always apologizes immediately if he does.

"You can't help.."

"I bet if you-"

"You honestly can't. Even if I told you, you would be anything but help." I said truthfully.

"Please, I-"

"No."

"Mike-"

"No."
