Chapter 14: Katsuki's Birthday

Krriiiiiinnnggg!!!

Your alarm clocked rang loudly for the first time ever since you got here and on the next part you were still tired! Wonder why..

"(Y/N) wake up its Katsuki's birthday.." Your mom whispered in your ear after she turned off the alarm clock.

"Mm.. Yeah Katsuki's Birthday..." You mumbled throwing the pillow over your head. Mitsuki smirked knowingly and counted down from 3.

"ITS KATSUKI'S BIRTHDAY!! OH MY GOSH! MOM WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR!" You practically threw your blanket off and fell off the bed and quickly hurried to your brother's room.

"Happy birthday Katsuki!–"

"Shut up brat! I am too old for that shit already." Katsuki says his eyes trained on a book that seemed to be his homework.

"Awe! You should be happy you got a birthday! I don't even remember when mine is.." You pout.

Katsuki took a light glance at you before sighing and snapped his book closed. "I am going out."

"Eh!? Why!? I was planning that we can hang out today!" You whined as he stood up and grabbed a hoodie from his closet.

"Boring" the boy commented.

You huffed and clung onto his leg as he started walking over to the door.

"But why don't you hang out with family anymore!?" He sighed and picked you by your collar and started to walk down. "Too busy, I have to get stronger and make sure I am ready." He said.

"Ready for what!?"

"My future carrier as a hero." He replied shortly.

"Hmpf! Hero this, hero that! If being a hero make you this boring I don't like it!" You crossed your arms puffing your cheeks in dismay.

"Don't you ever just stop every once in a while and appreciate what you have and received?" You asked. The question made Katsuki stop before he grumbled.

"If I stop now, I will only fall behind." Katsuki spoke lowly looking down but it also means being able to see your face which held an expression that wanted to here more.

"Tch! You won't understand now you are just a brat! You will get it if you ever get to grow a few more feet.."

"Big brother, I highly doubt that my quirk involves those." You stated.

"Its an expression! It meant meant once you get older!" Katsuki yelled throwing you onto the couch. Masaru was on the arm chair and smiled at the two of you.

"Morning Katsuki! Happy birthday–"

"Quiet old man!" Katsuki yelled and the second he did a pan was thrown to his head with your mom scolding.

"Be more respectful to your own parents Katsuki!" Mitsuki yelled in result Katsuki yelled back and it quickly caused an argument.

Baam!

The doors loud slam made you flinch lightly on your seat beside Masaru. "He actually left..." You muttered sadly.

Masaru smiled lightly and placed you on his lap as you snuggled in his arms. "Why doesn't Katsuki want to celebrate his birthday? Birthdays are supposed to be special, right?" You asked your father.

"Well, Katsuki rather values preparing for the future than having birthdays and such... You have to understand that Katsuki wanted to do what not many can achieve by luck or study or by chance. As his dad, I have to respect his decisions, cause its what Katsuki chooses." Your dad preached.

"But aren't dad's supposed to be able to tell us what to do?"

"Yes, we can.. But remember (Y/N) everyone has a choice to choose. It may seem like you have no other choices at times but there is one, we just don't want to get on it. And as a person you should accept it, as a family you should respect it." You looked at your dad in admiration before you look down with a sad frown.

"But big brother doesn't see me as family or cares.."

Hearing that Masaru shook his head with a small smile. "He does actually."

"What..?" You looked at him in surprise as the man smiled more. "Its not obvious to many but he shows more care for you than anyone outside the family."

"Really!?" You jumped up standing on your father's lap with glee.

"Remember what mom says 'Katsuki has his own way of showing his emotions'? Don't doubt what mom says... Mother knows best after all!" Masaru laughed at your excited form but was sure to make sure that you won't fall off.

Mitsuki with a light chuckle walked into the living room with a cook book in hand. "And since I know best, why not we celebrate his birthday over a small lunch? I am sure he would not be able to say no, since Katsuki is so adamant to make sure he gets all three meals a day checked off."

With a cheer you dragged Mitsuki and Masaru into the kitchen excited to make the food.

"Yay! Done!" You cheered as your parents sat on both sides looking at the table that is with yummy food and cake.

"Now go on and wash up! I just texted Katsuki to come home already. Knowing him he'll try to take his time before he arrived back." Mitsuki smirked watching you nodded excitedly and rushed up the stairs.

With a sigh Mitsuki leaned her head on to Masaru's shoulder with a contented look.

"Told you adopting (Y/N) was a good idea." She piped.

"I never had a doubt, love" Masaru says giving a light peck on her forehead.

[Upstairs with you]

You rushed in to your room wrapped in a towel. You didn't actually washed yourself properly since that is still Katsuki's job but you only drizzled yourself with water and clean your face.

Quickly you changed with lots of tripping and falling and finally you head towards the door when you noticed something on your desk.

Walking towards it you smiled at what you found and with gentle fingers picked it up.

It was a birthday card for your brother. With the usual getting and such but also with a special message.

"ʏɷų wɩɭɭ aɭwaʏى bҽ mʏ ɧҽɾɷ!"

With a proud look on your face you, neatly as you could, placed the card in an envelope and walked out the door to meet with your parents downstairs.

Katsuki entered his house with a sigh taking off his shoes and lazily walked in till he passed by the dinning room and saw you all with bright smiles on your faces.

"Happy Birthday Big Brother!" You greeted with him looking at you three in surprise before giving a smirk.

"Heh, well what are we waiting for, I am fucking starving right now." He says.

"I am only letting this slide just this once.." Your mom grumbled as you and your dad laughed. With a skip you grabbed onto Katsuki's hand and tugged him towards the table.

"Let's eat!"
