Endless Woods, at the outskirts of Augus.

#Braeden Wildfire#

Imagine my surprise when I was knocked down by a group of vigilantes. They came out of nowhere, crashing on me as I called for Aria.

I landed on my back. I heard a resounding crack.

My bow!

"In the name of all the damned gods, I swear I'm gonna-"

I stopped short, as I saw a winged zodiac in front of me. Silver hair. Baby blue eyes. Pink lips. But the face...

"You-"

"My apologies," the lady said, a swift hand pulling me up.

"Braeden," a voice called. I looked down.

It was Lillian, struggling to get up with the weight of a golden haired zodiac on top of her.

I scrambled to help her.
"Lillian? What the fuck is going on? And why does that lady look like A-"

Lillian laid on the ground, too exhausted to move. "Questions later, please? Just... Help me with the Queen. Blaire! Get your ass moving here!"

The silver haired boy was spread eagled on the ground, groaning.

"I declare my retirement in being the Queen's carrier!" He retorted, chuckling weakly.

The name's Blaire, I remembered.

Blaire looked at me. "Call a medic, please"

"I am a medic," I replied, pulling the unconscious Queen in my arms. I laid her gently on the ground.

Blaire rolled over, trying to stand. "You are?"

I smirked, green flames erupting from my palms.

"Watch me," I teased and pressed my palm to Queen Silena's injured arm. It sizzled under my touch.

Contrary to popular belief, Fire can heal. Prometheus the Great once said, Fire is the most dangerous weapon. It creates and destroys.

Fire, being the rawest form of magic, takes the life of the wielder as its fuel. That's the reason why we live such short lives, Scout Leader Fireblaze once said during a lecture. Unlike other zodiacs, who take magic from the elements, Pyro people tend to be more flexible, striving to live with power within themselves. This power can be channeled in two ways. To create or to destroy.

Lillian hovered above me as I tended her wounds. "How-"

I glanced at her, a smile on my face. "Laters baby."

Her wounds stopped bleeding but my fire wasn't enough to heal her. Whatever bit her must have quite the poison.

"That will be enough for now. We need a Hydro medic to heal her though. The poison was too strong for me to heal."

"That is no poison man, she was bitten by a corrupted." Blaire clapped me on the back. "Good job though."

She- what?

A rustle at my left. A flaming bow and arrow materialized in my hand. Someone's coming. Without looking, I fired.

A shout and a curse later, I was hit at the back of my head.

It was Aria. "You stupid? If I haven't sidestepped fast enough, I'll be skewered!"

I laughed, caressing my aching head. The woman can be a brute sometimes. Well, most times.
