I looked up at the creaking of the door.

Queen Sofia sheepishly closed the door. She's wearing a veil.

"My apologies, did I interrupt?"

I shook my head.

She flung her veil on her table, and sat on her seat. Even now, I still couldn't believe that Sofia's now a Queen. "Blaire's going to be released now. I made sure of it. Nothing to worry about it."

I nodded. "You have my gratitude your Majesty."

"So it's the three of us then," she muttered.

I stared at her, not saying anything at all.

"Isn't it ironic?" She asked me. I raised my brows.

"History is repeating itself. We are merely a replica of the past," she said.

"What makes you say that?" I asked.

She opened her mouth to say something, but stopped when someone knocked on the door.

"Come in," she called.

Blaire was escorted into her office by two guards. He was uncuffed, with no permanent damage. He grinned at me. When I looked at the Queen, her high chair was already turned away from the door.

How..

"Thank you. You may leave us," she commanded behind her chair.

The soldiers bowed and shut the door behind them. Once their footsteps receded, she turned her chair around. I looked down out of curiosity. A chair with wheels!

Her baby blue eyes glinted as she smiled at my stupefied brother.
"Hello Blaire! We've met again."

"This is absurd," Prince Sam muttered under his breath.

His older sister held my gaze uncertainly. "I..."

"I what?" I coaxed her to talk.

"The forest...they're agitated...have been for some months now. I don't know what it is they are scared of but I could smell the malice..." She stole a glance at Nova. "Even from afar."

Cenna's eyes flitted to Gordon, who's now a seagull. "Gordon can sense it too. Must be a Terra trait, eh?"

Sam's impassive expression turned as hard as steel. Well, it must not be a Terra trait.

I could see Cenna's mouth quirk upwards. The jerk.

"Okay," Sam said. "Let me clear things up. The corruption is here...now...at this moment." He glanced at Nova, who's wearing a green jumpsuit. "You knew about this. That's what the research is all about, isn't it?"

Nova met his eyes but didn't say a word to confirm his thoughts.

"The Water Folk are generally immune to the corruption," I continued. "They wouldn't be foolish to attack us in our territory, where we're strongest."

The three Terra folk nodded.

Nova picked a stick and drew a crude map of the four kingdoms on the sand. She made an x mark on the Aero Kingdom.

"Air Kingdom," I said. Silence followed. We all knew what happened to the Queen.

"We tried to trace their movements, but none. They're as unpredictable as the weather."
