#Aria Fireheart#
I was able to ride a dragon! It was a shape shifter taking the form of a dragon but who cares. It was the ride of a lifetime! Ever since dragons were chased to extinction eons ago, the Pyro folks longed for dragons. I used to dream of tales of war and dragons when I was young.
Braeden's shout pushed me out of my pining for dragons.
"To the right!"
Jumping to the right, I did an acute turn, kicking blindly. My flaming foot connected with something painfully hard. Flaming feet for maximum speed. It went down screaming in agony.
I jumped around, clutching my throbbing foot. Goddamn it! Was the armor made of sea rock?
"Damn! Damn! Damn!"
"At your rear!"-Braeden
Without looking, I dropped down with a roll, the opponent tripping on my sudden movement. My knees connected with his jaw, sending him flying to the sand, turning to ashes.
I jumped on my toes. Darn, these will bruise badly.
Father... Aiden once told me White Fire isn't a weapon of war, but of life. I mustn't stain the fire with blood on my hands.
I pulled the dagger off my belt, slashing at one's throat. He fell down like a rock.
I did not. But no one said about bloody feet and daggers.
The dragon above us roared. It was caught up in a massive net of iron. Iron was the weakness of magical creatures. The dragon wasn't a creature though.
He bellowed, fire pouring out of his mouth like a storm. I grinned as I felt my nerves tingling, getting ready to test the power out. I do have my own sets of skills up my sleeves. But it's White Fire's nature, to live with a taste of all kinds of power. Fighting it feels like me pushing the city walls. It'd get me nowhere.
Succumbing to the pull of power, I opened my mouth and bellowed, causing an explosion.
I was sent flying by the force of it all, colliding on someone.
"Why don't you destroy the city while you're at it," Braeden smarted behind me.
His hard, calloused hands pulled me up.
I gave him the stink eye. Only he would jest at a time like this.
"This isn't going according to plan!" I growled, my irritation slowly rising to the surface.
The plan was to win the Throne. Be Queen. Then leave. But he doesn't need to know that.
He shrugged my temper off like a professional.
"Now, what?""Now I kill the giants," I stated with vehemence, staring at the distance.
Storm giants were approaching the sand dunes. Two had escaped my notice until it was too late. Hopefully, the others will be able to kill it off without much damage.
Braeden fired his arrows made of flames.
"You don't mean to go alone, do you?"A corrupted was on us, machete raised high in the twilight air.
Too slow.
I raised my arms, white flames materialized as bow and arrow, then fired. He went down screaming.
"Of course I do."
The smile on his face vanished.
"Those are storm giants Braeden," I went on. "I need to kill them before they render all of you useless."
