Blood Desert, City of Augus

Why do I have the feeling that they all knew each other?
"Hey," Blaire called, flying next to me as we flew after Nova.
"What?" I asked coldly, pissed off with his antics. He wasn't supposed to be here.
"Why do I get the feeling that they knew each other?" Blaire asked me.
I bit my tongue. The crazy elf knew how to read my mind. It's a brother thing.
"They're noble-born. Of course they know each other," I replied.
He made a clicking sound. Whatever it is on his mind right now, I don't want to know.
We heard someone whooping behind us. I glanced back. It was the redhead girl, flying on flaming wings of white, smoke following her trail. She looked so much like Sofia. I looked around. Where is Sofia?
"What in the-" I muttered as Aria zoomed past us.
"This is so cool!" She shouted, almost child-like.
Blaire didn't look that surprised.
"How?" I asked.
"Mirror Complex. Remember it?" Blaire asked.
I nodded, although he can't see it with the smoke before us.
After retiring, Father became a renowned scholar of myths and legends while Mother became an archaeologist. We grew up with the stories of myths and legends of all kinds, knowing which was possibly real and which are only figments of the mind.
"What of it?" I asked.
"Look at her!" Blaire insisted. "Mirror Complex."
Mirror Complex. This is a theory commonly found in magical beasts. They mimic an attack, bouncing it back, like a mirror. The frequency and amount of skills mimicked depends on the rarity of a beast. It could be a theory applied to zodiacs too. Some legends tell of zodiacs with Mirror Complex. Powerful zodiacs. Zodiacs descended from gods.
"So she's-"
"She must be," Blaire stated. "Godling. That's what the corrupted called her."
The word rang in my head.
Godling. Godling. Godling.
"Sofia knows about this?" I asked.
"No," Blaire replied. "Too preoccupied. Got a little loose on the head after seeing her. Poor thing."
I bristled. My brother could be a little indifferent, talking about zodiacs as if they were mere things, not mortal.
Nova was fighting of four witches from a distance. I created a sword out of ice. Zooming faster, we reached her, me freezing their brooms, and Blaire choking them to death.
"That was my kill," Nova said.
"Your welcome," I replied.
"They called her godling!" Blaire said, rather cheerfully.
Nova lunged over, pulling a witch by the hair. She screeched.
"Who?" Nova asked as she sucked the life out of the witch.
Death's Touch, legends call it. A sorceress's touch sucks a life. This life, in turn, is used for more spells.
"Aria!" Blaire replied.
