Gordon thrashed as soon as Miss Maddie emptied one injection.

"Hold him still!" -Maddie

"I'm ----TRYING!!!" - Sam

"I can't watch this!" -Silena

"I told you this isn't a good idea."-Cenna

I reached out to pin the blonde down. Together, we pinned him as Miss Maddie emptied two to three injections. His convulsion grew worse, I had to grit my teeth to keep my grip strong.

"I think that's enough Miss!" I shouted, beads of sweat forming near my brow. "He can't take it anymore!"

The redhead held another one. "This'll be the last."

* It'll be the last if he dies from silver poisoning. *

The door opened with a crash, Nova and the Scout leader rushing inside. At the same moment, Maddie swiftly stabbed the needle, draining it all up.

"Maddie! Wait!" Scout leader pulled her away from Gordon. "Don't push it!"

We watched as Gordon stilled, his chest rising up and down slowly.

* What the heck happened? *

"You sedated him!" Sam shouted in accusation.

Maddie just shrugged, sitting on the nearby tripod. Her zealous facade crumbled at that swift moment, eyes closed and lips parted as she whispered a rushed prayers towards her patron goddess, Sagittarius.

Sam slumped next to me, still shocked by the sudden change of pace.

"Is he going to be alright?" I asked.

"Hell, who knows dude? I'm more worried about Lillian."-Sam.

"He's still breathing," Nova noticed as she examined his mangled legs. "Thank the goddess."

"Of course he is," Maddie breathed out, catching her own breath. "I'm not going to let my efforts go to waste. Just let me--huh--catch my breath. I'll take care of his legs right after." She smiled as Aiden gave her a glass of water. "You'll just have to take turns watching him. If he experiences overdose, we have Summerfield. He's the man for the job."

Sam grunted in disapproval.
"If he dies, I'm out of this, woman. Remember that."

Aiden sighed, sitting on the edge of Aria's bed.
"Three champions down in a week. We can't afford any more loss. They're going to shoot down every single one of you, the dead werewolf hinted as much. It's better to shut the Fortress down, just until we know exactly what the hell we're watching out for."

"Does this mean we can't go back to our Kingdoms?" Silena asked.

* It means more than that. It means they're cutting our freedom. I do not like it. Very much. *

"Yes. Please bear with us for much longer your Majesty."

I got up, striding towards the door. "I'm gonna go get some fresh air."

Silena moved to stop me.
"It's dangerous out there!"

"Let him," Sir Aiden interjected to my surprise. "The first drop of snow will start tonight. It'll be good for your health."

I gave him a small smile before taking my leave, softly shutting the door behind me.

* I'm going to lose my sanity if I stay inside any longer. *
