#Aria Fireheart#

Scorched Desert, City of Augus

A dozen storm giants in sight, excluding the other two I burned to ashes.

"This is a suicide mission," Blaire said under his breath. Like he didn't say it three times now.

"Shut up," I told him. He was right of course. But I'll be damned before I admit it.

He yelped as I pulled him aside to kill a corrupted lurking behind. He looked at me quizzically. Like I grew two heads or something.

"I don't want to die in here," he casually continued, jumping out of the way as he blew a mini hurricane on a giant.

"Neither do I. Now shut up and get to work," I snapped at him, whirling my swords around. The tendon of the giant snapped. He screamed.

"We could just teleport," he offered.

I grunted my disapproval as I continued with disabling the giant. Cut the tendon here. Hack the toe there. Aiming a flame arrow, I fired at the back of his knees. They hadn't been able to locate us...yet.

"And get away from here? I am no coward," I replied after burning the disabled giant to ashes.

One down. Eleven more to go.

He gave me an exasperated look.

"Are you insulting me?"

"Trust me, you'd know if I am."

It was a mistake talking to him.

The closest giant, quite intrigued with the noise we're making, looked down.

"Dinner!" She shouted.

Two others looked down and cheered. Together, their outstretched hands came down to swat us like flies.

Dead or alive, we'll make a great meal.

Their movements, because of their enormous size, are clumsy. But three pairs of giant hands is another thing altogether. They'd got us on all sides. The curse that came out of my mouth was as colorful as the rainbow.

"We could teleport," Blaire continued to pester me. Like a damned broken record.

"Then go!" I hissed at him, my temper flaring. Staring disdainfully at the huge, dirty palms, I had a little debate. I could go supernova, they'll be dead right away. No, too risky. Blaire's here. Or I could just blast myself away from here. No, too cowardly. Before I could decide, a cold hand curled around my waist.

"What the-"

One moment, I was on the sand. A second later, I was spinning dangerously. Cold winds enveloped me. It was like a bucket of freezing water dumped on me. The zero visibility was worse. It made me temporarily blind. When my eyesight lifted, I was high up in the air. Hovering above the three giants like a wind sprite. I could hear Blaire hissing next to my ear. His arms on my waist. We were that close. I shivered. With the cold of course.

"Stop burning! You're scalding me!" He hissed loudly.

"I am hot!" I retorted, blinking to clear my bearings.

His hold on me slipped a little. "Haha. Very Funny."

A bow and arrow of flames took form in my hands. I raised it perpendicularly, aiming for their eyes.

"Oy! Oy! What are you doing? Stop it! Stop!" Blaire complained.

I barely heard the sound of hissing on his skin as I zeroed in my aim and fired. One. Two. Three arrows found its mark. It hit their marks right at the cornea. They screeched. The three started clawing their eye out, the uninjured eye blinking furiously in tears. One. Two. Three. Another set of arrows launched upon their ears. They screamed. Blood poured out of both sockets. Blood and mucus ran down their noses.
