Christopher...
"Don't get up yet..." Rocky mumbles before nuzzling his face back into my shirt. I crack a small smile before turning my head to glance at the clock. It was going on eight thirty and I knew my mother would be coming in to tell us about breakfast being ready soon. I let out a soft sigh and the sound of Rocky's light snores invade my ear drums. I let out a quiet chuckle before my door begins to open. My mother peaks her head in and I give her a smile.
"Breakfast is ready." She whispers when she notices that Rakim is asleep. I nod at her and slowly begin to sit up.
"C'mon Chris..." He mumbles sleepily before snoring once more. Me and mom share a laugh as I reach for a fresh pair of socks. I pull them on before exiting the room, following my mom down the stairs. Once I finally reach the kitchen I wipe my eyes before taking a seat at the island.
"I'm happy you found someone like Rakim..." Mom says as she sets my plate down in front of me. Smiling, I pick up my fork and gather up some eggs before bringing it to my mouth.
"Me too... I just took to long to realize what he actually had to offer." I say before beginning to eat the rest of my food.
"What about that Robyn you were hooking up with?" She asks as she takes a seat across from me. I raise my brows before laughing a little bit.
"I mean obviously we aren't doing that anymore... and she's okay with me and Rakim. She actually said she was wondering when we were going to make the move." I say before taking a sip of my orange juice."Are you and Rakim... you know?" She asks, playing with her food as she chews her bottom lip nervously. I shake my head before turning my attention back to my plate.
"We're not ready for that yet, trying to take things slow. I realized I was rushing myself into things without really thinking about them. So I've decided I want to take my time knowing Rakim... actually get a chance to know him before we go our separate ways for college..." I explain to her and she sniffles causing me to look up. "Momma," I chuckle, "Why are you crying?" I ask as I place my fork back beside my plate. She wipes the tears from her cheeks before shrugging her shoulders.
"I just love watching you grow baby... you've been through so much and I watch you everyday wake up and keep going like nothing can stop you. And the fact that you found someone who's willing to love and accept you for who you are... that's amazing baby and I can't be more proud of you. I love you so much Christopher." She says and I smile over at her.
"I love you too momma..." I say softly before turning my attention behind me when I hear someone coming down the stairs. Heavy footsteps slap against the floor and I can't help but laugh as Rocky's tired body comes into view. His shirt was off and his sweat pants were dangling from his hips, exposing his briefs.
"Ugh!" He groans as he stretches out his limbs, earning a few cracks from them. "Good morning..." He mumbles before coming deeper into the kitchen. "Oh hey momma." He smiles at my mom before placing a kiss on her cheeks. A light blush creeps across them and I chuckle as Rocky rubs his abs."Oh my bad, should've put a shirt on but damn... I'm hungry. This looks good mom!" He says before grabbing the plate that was set out on the counter for him. He sits between me and mom before beginning to chow down on his food.
"Drink?" I ask, pushing my cup towards him. He nods before gripping up the cup and chugging the rest of it down.
"Well do they feed you at home Rakim?" Mom laughs at him as she begins to eat her own food.
"Yeah they do, he's just a fat ass." I snicker earning a kick from him. Momma laughs at us before becoming distracted by her ringing phone. Standing up from the table she walks over to the counter to answer it. I draw my eyes back over to Rocky whose picking up a strawberry and placing it between his lips. He catches my eyes before biting into it and he smiles. Winking at me the juice drips down his lip as he pulls the fruit away. I blush as his tongue captures it and he chuckles before picking up another one.
"Want one baby?" He asks lowly and I shake my head as I roll my eyes with a smirk.
"No you freak." I chuckle and he adds in before biting into it himself. We continue to eat out breakfast before mom announces that she has to be at work, I nod before she gives me a kiss and says her goodbyes. "What're you doing today?" I ask Rocky as my mom disappears up the stairs.
"Nothing, you?" He asks before reaching over and swiping a piece of bacon off my plate.
