Christopher...
Busted lip, bruised eye and broken nose. It's safe to say I was pissed. Trey sits a few seats away from me, his nose still leaking but I don't feel bad. I turn my eyes away from him and continue to stare at the door. I had to wait for my mother to come and sign me out even though I've driven myself to school. I sigh softly, dropping my view down to my bloody fingers and bruised knuckles. I walked away with a scratch on my upper lip and a bruised cheek but Trey got the most damage done. There's only so much I can take. The door opens, revealing my mother and she frowns when she sees my face.
"Mrs. Hawkins?" The principle asks and she nods her head.
"Yes, that's me." She says softly and I naw at my bottom lip.
"Your son, Christopher decided to start a fight this morning, he's done that poor boy over there some damage." He says and Lu mother tilts her head up at him.
"Well... what did he do to my son?" She asks and he looks taken aback.
"Excuse me? Ma'am I believe he did nothing wrong." He defends Trey but I decide to keep my mouth shut.
"So you expect me to believe, that my son, that young man sitting right there just walked up to him and hit him for no reason at all? No not my son, look at his records he's not a troubled kid and I know my son very well! You see I'm tired of blame being put on him! In his old school he-"
"Momma..." I cut her off, not wanting her to tell my business. She stops talking and looks at me, her face full of hurt.
"I'm sorry Christopher." She says softly and I walk up to her.
"Let's just go home..." I mumble to her, avoiding the principles eyes. She nods and places her hand on my back for a moment before going over to the desk to sign me out. Once she's finished she gives me a final look before heading towards the door. I'm slowly trailing behind her as the males her way into the hallways. Kids begin to file out of the class as the bell signifying that the last class was starting soon rings. I keep my head low as I take the walk of shame. My name slips from a couple of peoples mouths but I don't even attempt to look to see who it is. When I feel the cool breeze of the late winter air hit my I raise my head and lead myself over to my car.
"I want you to come home Christopher." My mom says softly behind me.
"I'm going to be right behind you momma." I mutter and she gives me an eye.
"I know how you get at times like this. You like to take off to 'be by yourself'." She quotes me and I chuckle lightly.
"I'm coming home momma." I give her a small smile and one slowly spreads across her lips.
"Okay baby." She says softly before making her way over to her car. I make sure she gets in fine before slipping into my own car. Robyn's words continue to play in my head as I follow my mother off of the school property. Someone I have grown to care for this past school year was now an enemy of mine. I know damn well Rakim wouldn't be talking to me anytime soon so now I was back to square one. By myself.Girls around the school always try and talk to me but I know it's only because they want me locked in their bedroom with them. The attention was nice, to know that people were finally noticing me but I want people to like me for me. I don't want to be seen as a sex symbol, I just want to be loved. My stomach growls so I push my thoughts to the back of my kind. I know she'll freak out, but I turn left as she turns right and make my way to the closest fast food place. Wendy's is the first that I pass so I pull into the drive thru. I order mom and myself something before making my way him. As I pull into the driveway I notice her standing on the balcony. I park my car and step out before looking up at her. She's already staring down at me so I slowly lift that bag of food up. I shake it lightly with a small smile on my face and I see her giggle. A blush runs across my cheeks and I lock my car up before heading into the house. As I lock the front door I hear her descending the stairs. My feet carry me over to the kitchen, her right behind me.
"I thought you were taking off again." She says as I place the bag of food on the table. I pull the contents of the bag out and set them down.
"I told you I was coming home." I say before taking a seat in one of the chairs at the table. "Are you hungry? I got you a burger and some fries." I inform her and she sits across from me.
"I actually am, thank you Chris." She says before swiping up some food. I wash my hands quickly before sitting back down.
