Christopher...
"So... when did you meet Rakim?" My aunt Christine asks me as she sets a plate of different fruits in front of me. I pick up the fork and stab into a pineapple before answering.
"My first day at school." I nod before placing the sweet fruit in my mouth. We were currently sitting in the backyard, enjoying the sun while mom was out shopping. They wanted to have a little get together tonight so that everyone can see us before we head back home.
"He seems like a sweet boy... he must really like you too." She smiles at me and I nod as I blush. I pick at more of the fruit as the glass door opens to the backyard. I look over to see Rocky coming out shirtless as always with a pair of his basketball shorts on.
"Good morning aunty!" He smiles brightly causing her to laugh. I shake my head at his spunkiness, another smile spreading across my lips.
"It's afternoon Rakim! It's almost two!" She says and his brows furrow before he looks down at the watch on his wrist.
"Well won't you look at that..." He mumbles before walking over to us. He plops his self on the ground before resting in between my legs. Leaning his head back he looks up at me and just smiles. "Mornin' baby." He cheeses and I blush again as I smile back at him.
"Good morning Rakim." I say gently and his brows raise.
"Rakim... damn I've been stripped of my nickname." He shakes his head as he looks at my aunt. "How should I feel about that aunty?" He asks her and she chuckles as she raises her hands.
"Don't get me involved." She giggles before standing from the chair. "I'm going to pick up your cousin Austin and a few of his friends. Be back in a bit." She says before kissing my cheek and makes her way back into the house."Mmm... sun feels nice." Rocky says, drawing my attention back to him. I place my hand on his cheek and run my hand down it as his eyes close.
"Wanna get in the pool?" I ask and he nods, eyes still closed as he allows himself to soak up the heat of the sun.
"In a minute though... I'm comfortable." He mumbles before opening his eyes. He stares at the scene in front of him as I lean back in the chair and we sit in a comfortable silence. Awhile passes before he speaks to me again. "What's your cousin like?" He asks and I shrug before reaching down to play with his braids.
"He's cool... I like being around him, he's actually like my favorite cousin... he was the first one to accept me for how I am." I say lightly and he stares up at me.
"So he'll be fine with this... with us?" He asks and I nod my head before bending down. I place a softly kiss on his lips before resting my nose against his.
"And even if he wasn't, it wouldn't matter to me." I say and he smiles, his teeth shining white. "I honestly don't know about his friends though," I sit up, "I haven't met them before." I finish up my sentence. "Fuck them though if there's a problem." I chuckle and he lets out a short one.
"You right... I'll be quick to fight though soon as someone steps out of line." He says and I lick my lips. I hope we don't have to deal with any of that.
"Let's get in now." I say referring to the pool and he nods his head before standing to his feet.I pull off my sweats, revealing my basketball shorts and then pull my shirt over my head. He's already in the pool waiting for me by the time I finish so I follow behind him.
"Fuck it's cold." I laugh and he snickers before hooking his fingers in the waistband of my shorts. He pulls me off the stairs and deeper into the water and I laugh loudly in his hold. "Why you always gotta mess with me?" I ask and he smirks before releasing me.
"Because I can." He says before sticking his tongue out at me. I roll my eyes playfully before disappearing under the water. I swim to the bottom before grabbing his ankle and bringing him down underneath with me. "Fuck!" I hear him shout before he comes under. His eyes meet my own and I laugh, it sounding like a bunch of gurgles beneath the water. He glares at me and I instantly turn to swim away. I come up for air and laugh as I swivel around to look at him. His arms wrap around my waist and he's lifting me up and slamming me back down into the water. When I come back up I'm laughing and trying to catch my breath at the same time. "Don't start something you can't finish baby." He smirks before pulling me against his chest. As my laughter dies down I turn in his hold to be face to face with him.
"I can finish it I just don't want to hurt you." I say with a smirk and he leans his head back as he laughs.
"Oh yeah?" He chuckles and I nod, letting out a few giggles. "Don't flatter yourself." He winks before releasing me and going back to swim.
..."Here." Rocky says before tossing me a towel. After a half hour in the pool we decided to get out and get cleaned up before the guest arrived. It was nearing three thirty and I could already hear people downstairs. I wrap the towel around my waist before stepping from inside the shower. He holds the bathroom door open for me and I walk into the room. As I'm slipping on my briefs a knock sounds st the bedroom door.
"Yes?" I ask as I begin to pull on my pants.
"It's me baby." My mom says and I tell her to come in. I pull on my shirt before searching from some socks. "Your cousin and a lot of other people are downstairs, hurry up they can't wait to see you." She says and I nod before she exits the room. Once me and Rocky are fully clothed we make our way into the hallway.
"Rocky wait..." I call out to him as he goes to descend the stairs.
"Hm?" He hums turning to look at me. I lick my lips and release a breath before grabbing his hand in my own. He looks down at them for a moment before his eyes meet mine again. He gives my hand a light squeeze before he allows me to lead us down the stairs. The sound of people talking slowly comes to a halt as we reach the bottom of the stairs. Many of my family members stand, a few clearly in shock, around the living room as me and Rocky stand, hand in hand.
"Wassup cousin!" I hear Austin's voice and my head turns in his direction. I smile and he begins to make his way over to us.I release Rocky's hand as Austin goes to embrace me in a hug.
"How you been?" He asks as he pulls back and I rub the back of my neck nervously. A few people were still staring at Rakim and myself.
"I've been better... moving from here really helped me." I admit and he smiles before embracing me in another hug.
"That's good to hear man! Now... introduce me to your friend." He says, nodding his head towards Rocky.
"This is my boyfriend Rakim... but I call him Rocky." I say shyly and his smile deepens.
"Nice you meet you Rakim!" He says, reaching his hand out for Rocky's. He takes it and they shake hands. "Why does he call you Rocky?" Austin chuckles and Rakim lets out a little laugh.
"Chris says I remind him of Rocky Balboa because I'm a fighter." He chuckles and Austin joins in on the laughter.
"Hey... if the shoe fits!" He says and I take this time to laugh.
"Yo... wassup Chrissy, it's been a minute since I seen you." My throat goes dry and my smile is stuck. Slowly my lips form into a frown before I flick my vision from Rocky to the owner of the voice. My breath hitches in my throat when my brown eyes meet those bright grey ones.
"J-Jayden..." I trail off and he smiles before licking his lips.
"In the flesh... how you been?" He asks as he steps closer to me. I reach out for Rocky's hand and he furrows his brows before allowing me to take hold of it.
"I've been good." I say barley above a whisper and he nods before his smile deepens.
"I thought you told me you weren't gay, remember last year?" His head tilts to the side as he eyes me sinisterly. His grey ryes sparkle knowingly and I turn away.
"Let's go get something to eat." I mumble to Rocky before pulling him towards the kitchen behind me.
"You okay baby?" He asks and I nod. I'll tell him when I'm ready... no one but me knows who is responsible for what happened to me and I plan on keeping it to myself a little longer.
