Chapter XIV

Weeks have passed and they have grown closer and closer. Which is great. At least there is progress. It's like they are best friends. But as the day passes by, not even a word about why he left is said. She still doesn't know the reason. But it doesn't really matter anymore.

For the past few days, Ken had been really busy. He comes home late and leaves early in the morning. Yes, he doesn't drive for Ana anymore. It was such a relief for her. For a whole month she wasn't able to drive her car. Buti nalang naging busy si Ken.

Ken was inspecting around the mall, of course he has to see if everything is in order. He's walking with his assistant. They are totally an eye catcher. With Ken looking oh-so-good in his baby blue long sleeves, which is folded in 3/4 and the first few buttons are open. He looks like a model. And his assistant looking as good as well, but of course you'll still be able to identify who's the boss. He was discussing his plans to Arthur when suddenly someone called his attention.

"Oh my gosh! Ken! You're here!" Brittany said excitingly. She went right away to Ken and nakipag beso.

"Britt?" He asked.

"Yes! Silly. Oh my. I didn't know you were back. Since when?" She said "Oh, wait! Why don't we have coffee? Or are you busy?" She added.

Ken looked at his watch and saw that he still has time.

"Uh, Arthur. Let's talk about this later. I'll see you in the office." He said. He didn't want to be rude to Brittany. She's a friend and also a friend of Ana's. He can't say no.

They were inside a very fancy cafe and Brittany was the one who's very talkative, while being a nice man that he is, just goes with the flow.

"So, you go here often?" Ken asked. Trying to know if she finds the mall good. Little did he know that Brittany knew that he was now the owner. She doesn't go here often, but now she will.

"Oh! Yes. I love the stores here! You know me, I love shopping! And everything fancy." Brittany answered enthusiastically.

"Oooh, I see." He said and had a sip of coffee. They just told each other stories. When Brittany asked about how he and Ana had been, he had a hard time answering. Oo nga no, ano na nga ba kami? What's going to happen? That was what he thought. But he only answered Brittany that they are in good terms, he knows that Brittany knew what happened between them before. And she's the person to thank that time. She woke him up from all the things he was blinded from. But, during a time like this, he doesn't want to think about that anymore. Right now, he and Ana are in good terms, well at least he thinks they are.

They've been in the cafe for more than an hour and bid their goodbyes. Brittany said that they'll be seeing each other soon. Medyo tinamad na siya magtrabaho ulit. What he wants to do right now is to come home to his wife. So, he texted her.

It's already 7pm and her classes were done, actually, tapos na ang klase niya tuwing 5pm. She just spends her time helping Kelly. So now, here she is with her bestfriend. As usual, laging chikahan lang sila.

"So ano, any progress so far?" Kelly asked when she got back her table. She talked to a client.

"Uhhm. If us being closer is a progress, then yes." She answered.

"Nako! Not that! I mean wala bang hug, holding hands, stuff like that??" Kelly asked again. Curious siya e.

"Ay! Nako. That level can wait. Let's just be contented of what we are." Ana answered na medyo natatawa.

"Hay! If I were you, NEXT LEVEL NA YAN!" Kelly said like a gay which made Ana laugh. Her bestfriend really is cool.

"Ay, ewan ko sa'yo. Babae ako oh. Guys make the first move!" She said. While still laughing and then she felt her phone vibrated.
