Chapter 7

Jesse was thinking about how he would start the conversation. He can't just start asking Chloe about the date. In fact he likes her and wants to get to know her better. So he decides to be his casual self.

He waves at Chloe when he sees her. At first she doesn't see him but eventually she smiles. Probably at him because at that point she began walking towards him.

'Hi', she says with a smile. She puts her coffee on the table. 'It's still hot', she smiles.

'Very true', Jesse agrees. 'Do you come here often?'

'I guess so', she stated. 'But it's not like I have a caffeine addiction or anything'

'I wasn't going to say that', Jesse laughed.

'Good', Chloe says.

Before Chloe got the chance to ask why he texted her, Jesse decided to explain it to her.

'Alright. I texted you and I know it is odd but I want to get to know you better. You are a really nice girl and friends with Beca which is a really hard thing to become'.

'That's sweet', she replied. You seem like a nice guy too'

'I'm serious Chloe. I really want to get to know you better. But there is an other thing what decided I had to text you at the exact moment I did.'

Chloe frowned. She had no clue where Jesse was coming from. She tried taking a sip from her hot coffee.

'Beca has, as we speak, a date with Stacie. I couldn't believe it and I still can't. I can tell you have a thing for Beca and it's okay it's cute. I like you over Stacie and I know you have a good influence on Beca. I was wondering how Beca could have a date with Stacie? She doesn't really talk about her. Unlike she does about you...'

Chloe likes the last thing Jesse says. It means Beca talks about her. But she asks herself if she should tell Jesse about the bet. That was probably the reason why they were on a date. A date Chloe had no knowledge of until Jesse told her seconds ago. She feels a little jealous. How could Beca say yes to Stacie?

But Jesse is still looking at her and waiting for an answer. She can't tell him they have a bet. That is weird...she can't say that out loud. It looks like they are using Beca. That is the truth but Chloe feels a lot more than that for Beca. That's why she wants to win. That's also why she isn't trying to win Beca for her the way Stacie does.

'I have no idea', she eventually says. Even tries to act a little surprised. Because she is  sincere surprised about the date but she knows why Stacie is doing this.

Jesse continued to look at her. He just can't believe this.

'Thank you for telling me though. This means I should step up my game', Chloe said.
But the thing is that Jesse thinks Chloe is referring to her crush instead of 'the bet'.

'I don't know though. Stacie and Beca won't last long. I have seen the way she is around you and how she acts when I mention your name'

Chloe can't help but smile. Thinking of Beca doing that makes her happy and causes a weird feeling in her stomach. Her mind is spinning. She sees images of Beca or moments together. She can't help it. She wants this. But now Stacie has this...

Deep down she hopes the date would suck. But knowing Stacie it won't be just a date...the date will end in things.
Shit.
Now reality hit her.

Chloe decides to wait for Beca in her room. She shouldnt have her hopes up, referring to the date. 

Suddenly Chloe hears voices.

'I had a great time tonight'

Chloe realises it is Stacie's voice. Oh god what if they were coming in the room? Chloe hoped not because what if they continue what they started? Maybe they were going to the bed room...knowing Stacie...Chloe couldn't let that happen. But what could she possibly do now?
