"Mind your hands, La madre que te parió!" The thick accent coated his tongue in sneer.
"Why is his face hidden?" He frowned. I waited "Claude! Capture him!" Dad ordered eyeing behind me. I didn't said anything anticipating see him exposed. A man I assume Claude entered from where we entered. "Dad he lead me here. He is one of your men, you don't remember?" I explained in my defence. Dad scrunched his nose in confusion. I turned around as my head followed Claude's movements, before he could touch his mask my escort gabbed his wrist and flip him on the ground before taking out his VIP card out of his pocket just so dad could see but my eyes were as sharp.
So those muscles weren't just for a show.
I guess Claude approached him off guarded.
"Zenovia Wait outside." My dad ordered 'me' to wait 'out'. I puffed out a breath "Fine! I'm off to my mission." stomping out I did my farewell.
He told me to go out but didn't said anything about the door. I glued my ear to the door and closing it just enough so I could eavesdrop.
"I'm postponing our today's meeting."
"Damn! Why didn't you introduce yourself earlier. Forgive me for my recklessness." My dad sounded..Hesitant.
I heard the foot steps. He must be coming out. I ran in full speed to see myself out.
Im afraid he saw me because his chuckle echoed in the hallway but I didn't dare look back and just like that I was out of the metallic door consecutively pushing through the crowd and finally in the parking lot.
"Won't wait for me?" He was already behind me, teasing.
"Catch up!" I retorted but didn't meant to. What I thought of saying was that the deal is over. We are out. He can leave.
"It seems we'll be a great team." There was no time to ask What he meant, the helicopter was right above us, the ladder suspended down for us to climb up and so he did, I followed.
My memory lapsed during the journey from dad's place to wherever the tracker was pinpointing, I didn't care, it's four o'clock now, how badly could they have hurt him I don't wanna think.
Truly I was in a state of trepidation.
I even though I reached this close but I couldn't function skillfully any longer, emotions didn't let me. My partner in this mission operated the men. He seemed to do it effortlessly.
The windows had no glass in them and they seemed not to be quite rectangular and the door dangling on it's hinges at a frisky angle, although now it was really just a frame. It was a rotting heap, bowing down. This is what I saw from outside but feared to find corpse of a person I need alive inside.
Armed Men surrounded the lifeless house from all the directions without a sound, The grass was long and unkempt around it and in that grass were tracks made by us. Two with loaded rifles barged in the abandoned house from the entrance.
But my legs were jammed but I dragged them slowly anyway. There was sound coming from inside which scared me more. Even if I heard swears or threatenings given to my son I would be glad for the fact that at least he was alive. But the silence creeped me out.
Suddenly I felt weight on my shoulder and I jumped turning to see what was it.
It was him, his hand. I gulped, he applied pressure gently but I needed liquid courage instead "He needs you right now. Stay strong." I agreed in a sharp nod understanding the situation.
"Yeah. You're right." I took in multiple deep breaths and let it out through my mouth before heading in and the guy who still can't take his mask off follows me.
The shutters, thrown back from the windows ages ago, were rotting away. The dirty Floorboards creaked with each step we took as we explored in further. Spiders scurry in dark corners, their old webs flap in dusty silence, clinging to the wall.
My Glances darting about rather than focusing on anything in particular.
"How come no one is here?" Did they found out the tracker and threw it here to trick us!? Or had they already buried him here? I swallowed pressing my lips together. I was freaking out inside but kept myself composed.
"Check what is beneath the floor." He ordered and the two leant down on floor and crawled with their ears close to it. Good point! I didn't thought of it that way.
I paid close attention to the way he was thinking. I observed the ghostly creaking sound of the floor we heard when the foot's pressure was applied, it produced a hollow dull echo of the wood on the opposite side.
"A Basement?" It clicked me. But we had to find the entrance to it.
All four of us scattered in search of some way to open the way.
"Pull out a plank and spot the stairs!" His order was followed with no questions asked. Yet again he was right finding a way was wasting time rooting it out was indeed wise.
"Sir! The ladders have been removed. We have to jump down." "You wait up here." My teammate threw me a glance and I gave a quick sharp nod. They jumped and landed safely. I knew full well if I jumped I would have end up breaking my legs. I'm active mentally not physically.
I bent down and look down through the big hole they break through. A table stood at the left side of the room on which shuffled cards laid with three chairs surrounding it, they must've heard us while they were playing. The ladder rested on the floor in an attempt to keep us at bay. For a minute I considered myself going down now that we found it.
But where were the kidnappers hiding? It was dark, shady and dirty down there but not a single object they could possibly use as a cover.
Infact, Where was my kid!??
One of the man whispered something in his ear and he looked up to me saying "Keep an eye outside. We won't know if someone attacks us." I narrowed my eyes letting him know I'm not buying this. But I couldn't see his hidden eyes under his hoodie, darkness surrounded him. "Fine" I exhaled in irritation.
We have our men surrounding us. I'm not a fool! he only wanted me out, but I felt he did it for me and I just blindly trusted him.
