"Don't people have to go through all the checking and registeration before entering in the visitors room? How can I be the only one? Callen went through all the security and filled up the formalities too before he went inside to meet the prisoner." Zenovia reasoned, not naming the exact person in case she guessed wrong.
"You sweet child! The legal matter and paper work can be taken care of. It's the mouths we cannot seal. Besides that girl has backing, they've quieted down. But there's still a doubt they'll make a fuss in future. And you're here. You will not betray us." Her expectant eyes scared zenovia more than anything. There was challenge underlying her bossy aura. "Yes!" She nodded vigorously.
Once the storm of sadness in her had calmed down she appeared like one of those aristocrats seen on tv.
"For a lady whose locked all day, that's quite some information you have under your sleeves." Zenovia pointed out with a laugh, not to make things uncomfortable.
Arlette chuckled too "isn't it great?"
'She's sophisticated. Someone from a wealthy family can only afford to behave like this.'
How she is well informed is a mystery that'll remain a mystery.
"Were you abducted? Or its an arranged marriage?" Zenovia dived into her curiousity.
'Not everyone falls in the hands of mafia. Besides she doesn't seem the type.'
"You Can't even imagine love between us. It's arranged, Yes." Arlet admitted, a hollow inside arlet's paralized heart thumped in dismay. Though zenovia didn't understood that part of her. Arlet was taught the art of hiding well and it has only perfected over the years. Zenovia is new to all this, Arlet had only confirmed how long the girl can last.
"Callen is lucky to find such a wise woman like yourself. To survive the politics here, he indeed chose the right one." She smiled. Zenovia did too. She understood half of what Arlet spouted.
"I saw you yawned quite a few times. Your eyes are puffy too. You've cried enough. Despite you were tired you put up with me. I really like you zenovia." Zenovia heart swelled with pride. Zenovia noticed Arlet's manicured painted pointed nails decorating her fragile hands, different than hers, when she held her hands, her richness could be felt from the delicacy her moves held. She squeezed her hands before leaving the bed.
Arlet offered her thankful generous smile.
'if I had a mother.."
"I'll let you sleep now. Sweet dreams, dear." She tugged her in, like the mother she was, And Turned off the lights before leaving.

In the morning she woke up to find callen looking at her and when she gazed at him with confused look, he smiled not giving her anything, "what?" She stretched in the morning weariness, "Nothing. I just like looking at you." He was lying beside her with his hands resting on his palm and the other hand above her covers.
'He never advanced at me like this at my house.'
"Wouldn't it be nice if we had met on better terms?" Zenovia sighed.
"What's better than this? Any situation bringing us close is 'better terms' to me." So smoothly beautiful words rolled of his tongue, he didn't waste take time to think. Zenovia was flustered by his comment. He curved his arms under her to pull her closer to his chest.
"Say, Hugo is the only hier to the business? Even if he is not can't his cousins take on the lead? If Hugo doesn't likes it. He should have a choice to leave." Zenovia asked. This is All her brain is threaded into.
"I knew you will think about this. See, It's not that simple. You cannot leave anytime if you simply want to. Besides he carries the bloodline. He's born into it. Because of a love he, which is an absurd reason, he cannot quit. He has already made enemies, if he goes into the wild, thinking he has cut off, without protection, he'll be dead as soon as he steps out."
'So he'll end up like me. Actually I am in the situation. And Hugo is going to be in that situation.'
"You don't have to Worry about all that. Leave it to me." He massaged her head, now that he turned to her.
"Instead think about me. It'll be helpful." Tapping her nose he got off the bed before she could pounce on him.
"Your mom is very emotional, packed with sadness. Take her out sometime, she's frustrated." Zenovia shared her last night's views about his mother once he came out well dressed.
He raised an eyebrow. "Do I look like I can take her out?" The man of the lady is responsible for her, he can't touch what belongs to his dad, And that's the protocol, No one interferes with others relationships.
"The psychologist in me is saying." She shrugged. But she also figured out why his mother feels so lonely, she chose not to comment because not that they'll break a tradition if she says so.
"She's turning shady living with monsters like you." Zenovia tried to persuade instead.
"She has to stay elegant and pricky for next time she meets other families mistresses." He drawled, A social war is what a representative of the family has to face being the guest.
She stepped towards him. He didn't say her to stop because he liked to see the spark back in her eyes.
"The grief is killing her from inside, callen. It's a matter of concern. Sometimes she's talking about us as a family, me included, sometimes she's saying I'm going to die soon. It's confusing!" She pressed onto the matter. It's about a person's health, she grew persistent remembering her profession.
"We don't know. She is also guessing your possibility of living. No one knows. That's why sometimes you're in her family talks and sometimes she blurts out her fear of your absence." He shrugged plainly but she felt the chills.
'In the end It's all about me.'
Silently she went to the bathroom while he was busy thinking. The spark in her eyes and enthusiasm was all gone in that instant.
