Very slowly she looked up with narrowed eyes crowned with dissatisfaction.

I don't know why but she looks close to breaking apart. As if I pushed her buttons.

Her lips quiver but she didn't say anything until she was head to nose with me. Damn close. Her scent is better than chicken if we're talking about other plate to devour. She sagged with a heavy sigh, "Since I made too much, nothing should go to waste." She wants to reason with me the logical way. But need her true emotions. She's more than that to me. "Why?" I held her hands, she's still hiding, A simple touch can shatter the wall, "These men protect me how I treat my patients." She sniffed. "When I was alone in the car with them.."

What!??

"Did they do something to you?" She scoffed. "No!" Like stating impossibility, she dragged the word.

I relaxed. Otherwise, There'd be one more death by my hands.

".. Everyone was ready to sacrifice themselves for me. Some even did, but no-one said a word to me..."

I cut in, Correcting her "It's because you're my Woman. You're off limits. It's their Job you're thinking too much." It aghast her. But this is the truth. She's insecure an nearly empty, I support her, Always. She doesn't need to look around.

"Callen, they didn't even look like they'd reply me. I want your people to accept me. Right now, I'm only attracting danger, I'm an encumbrance to you all!" Devastated she said. Her head hung in shame. She is getting it all wrong. I cup her face in both my hands and lift up her head, I need her to look at sincere mine.

"Their duty is to protect you. Because I say so. None other matter should be your concern." She is at a loss of words, I continued. Until she understands..

"They are trained for this, have been through this, working for me only for this Purpose! Protect us with their lives."

"But I'm receiving hostility! Not Respect! 'I' have to repay what 'I' receive." She reasoned yet again.

"Keep loving me and I'll give you all the respect in world." I gave her the solution. It's pretty simple.

She broke away. I pursued her, holding her by her arm, I kept her steady and attentive only to me.

"You don't understand, this is Mafia. Attacks like this happen often. Even without you. You're not the cause of this. Stop blaming yourself." She grew numb. All along she's blaming herself for the deaths she saw.

It's her first time experiencing this kind of pain. It has gotten to her.

I pulled her close to me. Her heart to sync with mine, her ear pressed to my chest.

"Calm down, Zenovia. It's going to be okay."

"Do whatever you want. But it should stay as formal as it can be."

I heard a knock and my work flooded back to my brain. She pulled away. I hurried to the door.

"I suggest you keep to yourself to avoid trouble for them." Before I see myself off I warned her, just in case.

"Callen I just want to be of use, and help anyway I can." I heard her, before disappearing with Claude.

No time to start when we reach the office and sit. I motioned him to start speaking. Putting on the shirt Claude made available right on spot.
"Their warehouses are found. Our spices are on location and we have abducted their grandchildren. Each one of them."

"Where are they kept?" Very good. This way, we have their major weakness in our hands.

"Here, in the Basement. Sir" In the dark. Just kept alive.

"Why didn't you call me! I was down for 14 fuckin' hours!" I flared remembering he could have informed these details much before.

"Ma'am said it's your order, Not to disturb you." He staggered. Oh, my darling cares about me. I'll let it slide.

"How did you know I was up Now!??" He did appeared at the right time. Just when we went quiet.

"You both were bickering like old couples. I couldn't help stick my ear for gossip sake." He snikered

Stopping, I glared at him. Though going back to that, so cute she was.

Sad, happy, lost, hurt, I love all about her, since it's her. I'll go to any extent to keep her close to me.

"I'm sorry sir. It won't happen again." Panicking he apologized.

In the office, I issued out orders to blast four of their major territories. Everything was carried out in ruckus to make up for the time we lost.

"Transfer Zenovia to the main house. It's safe to head back. In a few days she'll be asking to join the hospital back. It'll be convenient from there." The old guy I trust for years received the order.

She's going to ask little by little to return to her old life. Trying to reach whatever her life offered, what she had, before the chaos.

I just have to be prepared to agree to her,

"Yes Sir." Out he went.

Men keep coming in and out obliging me.

"About the dog, sir, we have it admitted. Injuries aren't deep. It'll recover in a week's time." He was found in one of Hugo's hotel room, probably from where my brothers picked up zenovia from. Luckily the dog was spared. Investigation was over quick. Silver's health had been bugging me since I found him lifeless on the floor, in the corner.

"Great. I'll visit him tomorrow." A smile crept up my solemn face, she'll first try searching for him herself, she won't find him, disappointed she'll request me. Happily I'll grant her wish.

"Yes, Sir."

The shirt was brought and I didn't have the luxury to eat together with my beloved but I can atleast eat what she made with so much love, She sent via Glenn.

I don't like the fact she might have interacted with him and other in the process. I can only sit back and sooth myself from the fact that she has me in her heart.

Only me.

I noticed agitation in Parker's features, another one of my close trusted men.

"What is it, Parker?" Rather deep I ask, He straighten in alert. "Sir, About the House."

Zenovia's house I instructed to be rebuilt just the way it was before. "What about the house?" I grew edgy. Damage done shouldn't hurt my girl. "Permission.." he quieted but disappointment was caused. "I'll have zinovia's signature" though it'll be hard. By any means, that isn't the problem. Paperwork is secondary. "Has the construction started or not?" A no will do no good. "Yes, sir."

Good. He's saved.

Government should never be a barrier.
