"Since you are in my mercy. I'll keep you safe." He attacked her lips and intertwined his tongue with hers, she didn't fight him,

Instead she relaxed in his arms as he advanced and pushed her up to the pillow tearing her sundress apart.

His initial plan was to avoid all her questions that she had been brainstorming since they ate in silence,

But underneath it all he made a point. No matter who plans to have her, he already had marked her his.

He had done it long back when she slept at night, and here again rightfully, no stolen kisses anymore,

She wouldn't have taken care of him if it wasn't from the heart, she had been seeking something more too,

Things aren't clear for her but he has everything sorted, she didn't like it, he is a tough but to crack.

He kissed her from head to toe, more she wanted him to do.

But he stopped,

Igniting the right amount of fire to make her ready and make her his altogether.

He caged her in, in his arms and trapped with his legs, it was warm enough, she loved it,

loved the warmth she missed all these years,

Before she could fall asleep she kissed his lips night, thinking he was asleep which he wasn't,

The urge to load off his pants grew in him but he waited for her to fall asleep,

After the shower he found missed calls from his dad,

Getting all charmed up in a new black three piece suit he went down.

Passing several rooms and maids in greetings he reached the study, his eyes directly went to the pics on his dad's table because that's where everyone was focused on.

"What's that?" Callen hurried to observe from close, unbelieving,

"It is what it is" the dark haired cousin said unfazed.

"Her house has really burnt down to ashes." Blonde who stood with his back to the wall clarified.

"They have made their move." Father said as a matter of fact.

Callen had all the enemies in his head until his father hinted Notarios as culprits.

How was he going to explain this to Zenovia?

"We can still kill her and get rid of all these unnecessary problems."

"No. I have accepted her. She's mine. I take her responsibility."

He slapped the table with authority, "I will go against whoever is against Us!"

He turned on his heels to leave,

He had business to take care of,

"Calen! Do not act on impulse! You know what happened last time." Calen had stopped, his father walked up to his son to have a serious talk, he motioned and the other two left them alone.

"You have fallen for her. I respect that." He blinked "we all do" his voice had gone gruffy, "But her equal devotion to you is needed." Callen hadn't confirmed her feelings are the same or not. His father was right and he knew what goes around in his house. Callen hung his head, "I'm trying." His father hmmed, understanding. "We will help. You will take over, someday. If she turns out to be a betrayer..." Callen's eyes snapped up to him, they again shared a look which only they understood. He left the words hanging. Callen didn't argue.

He knew until she doesn't promises her life, loyalty and blood to the family, she can't be helped or trusted.

She'll be an outsider until she proves otherwise.

The family had harmed her, how could she?

"You have all the time until she's under our protection. But, Hurry, they'll know it sooner or later." Father advised before leaving him alone. Calen crumbled the gravely photo in his clenched fist.

He burnt the others with his cigar.

He went through all the methods zenovia can submit to him.

'Nothing will make her to submit to me. She'll want to leave one day. She'll be killed in the process. I don't want to loose her'

A knock brought at the door brought him back to reality.

"Callen?" Zenovia's faint voice jerked him to respectable stances spinning in the chair where once his father use to sit. He removed all the burnt material. And discarded his cigar in the dustbin.

"Come in." Heavy authoritative his order was. She shivered but it excited her the same.

"Why do you always leave me when I'm sleeping?" She accused as she shut the door behind her and approached him

He was surprised to see her in his mother's gown. She looked beautiful.

"Missing me already?" He smirked.

"I'm scared, callen. Your family wants me dead. I'm also scared you might willingly hand me over to Notarios to improve your alliance with them." She admitted her fears.

"In my room, you don't have to be." He pulled her to his lap grabbing her hand. "If you roam around too much, it might get you into trouble. Still, not this family wants you dead." She raised her brows challenging him to think again. He grinned, "Till everyone knows you belong to me no-one will harm you." He assured her, she fidgeted, he didn't like it.

"Babe, do you want to live?" He suddenly turned a serious question to her, offcourse she wanted to. She wasn't pathetic, she had goals, dreams and people to meet, nope not yet, she can't die.

"Yes."

"Better get use to life here."

She frowned. "Wait!"

She put forth her hand, he held it down to his chest and quieted.
She was new to this but liked the little things he did.

"Why did your dad wanted me dead in the first place? And your brothers actively participated in the act. Why?"

He had to face it too, she had to know,

They cannot move forward without this conversation, it's about her, she's right, she deserves to know.

"You're Notarios target. You're associated with me. Which automatically brings trouble to Trevino family. My brothers, they act on orders. Since I have confessed you're my woman no one will harm you."

She nodded. But, "your woman?"

"Since the day you took me in, My heart belongs to you. You became my woman the day I laid my eyes on you. There's no going back."

"It doesn't work that way." She laughed.

"In this case, it does." He was turning edgy and zenovia had more questions, so she didn't pestered the topic further.

"Won't The police solve the matter easily?"

"It's mafia, Zenovia. Corrupt officers work for us. Like how you filed my missing complaint and it's only legit you will never receive any any positive calls." He smiled. She gasped. "You know?"

"Everything baby." He winked. Her heart doubled its rate.

Her mind rounded to her father, he couldn't possibly help, he has less influence compared to these two.

'He simply provides weapons. How can I put him in danger?'
