IshRa FF Beginning Again

Ishita was stunned and ignored his comment about Subbu. "Run off with you ? Are you serious ? Our marriage has come apart. We haven't seen each other in 3 months , you just said we need to talk and that's all you can think of that !"
"Hear me out. " Raman realized he was going at this the wrong way. "We do need to talk but I was thinking about the suggestion I had made before you left of our taking a trip somewhere. Why don't we do that now  ?  Think of it like being in a neutral corner. There won't be any interruptions and we can take the time to just try and work out our problems and see where we go from here. "
"When you made this suggestion the first time the circumstances where a little different" Ishita said.

Raman sighed "The only difference is that you weren't quite as angry at me as you are now. If we stay in Chennai there is always the interruption of Paatti or your relatives. Look I'm doing my best here to try to come to some sort of compromise."
Ishita got up and paced the room a bit "You are right about interruptions. My Uncle is bound to come calling. The truth is I fled dinner a little early so he's not too happy with me right now. I have to admit this is not a bad idea." Actually the more she thought about it the better the idea seemed. "But where to ? I assume you don't have a lot of time before you have to go back to work so it should be someplace close."

"I am the Boss and I have all the time in the world. Mihir takes care of everything in the office " So with that much time we could try Paris ." Immediately Raman realized maybe that wasn't the best idea. Ishita turned and locked eyes with him and he knew they were both thinking of that other planned trip to Paris that never happened. "Sorry bad idea"

"No I don't think Paris would work but I know of a place close by" Ishita searched thru some magazines on the table. "I loved to go there when I was small. It's a nicr place called Māmallapuram. It has a lovely beach and the usually touristy things but it is quiet and relaxing." Ishita handed Raman the magazine with the travel article. Raman looked it over for a minute then smiled up at Ishita"All right Māmallapuram it is. You can show me something of your Madras "

Later after Raman left Ishita stood staring out the window as the full moon rose over the city. "I'm just a little bit frightened of this" She thought" "I've always been willing to go anywhere and do anything with Raman and now I'm scared". Deep inside Ishita knew what her fear was. It was fear of being alone with Raman , feeling all of the love that she'd spent the past 3 months trying to let go of. And a bigger fear that in the end the damage between them couldn't be repaired.

Across the city in his hotel, Raman was watching the same moon. "What do I say to her ?" He thought "I want her to know how much I still love her, but what if she doesn't believe me. What if she is really over me ?"
