Later after the passion has subsided and they could breathe again they lay wrapped in each other's arms. Ishita sighed. "I wish it hadn't had to take a huge fight like this for us to see what's important in life."
Raman kissed her forehead. "I know, but the good thing is we've found it each again. That's all that matters as far as I'm concerned. I am so glad you answered the phone when I called Paatti . You saved me some time in hunting for you."
Ishita was puzzled. "When did you call?"
"Last week. I had talked to everybody in Delhi who might have known where you were. I even called Mihir . I was hoping somebody would give me a hint where you might be." Raman sighed "nobody was willing to budge."
"You called Mihir ? Did you really think that I would tell him where I was going? He'd have been on the phone to you in about a minute."
Raman chuckled at the thought. "That's what I figured but I was getting desperate. You do have the satisfaction of knowing that after I told him what happened he called me an idiot and told me that when I got you to forgive me I should buy you some nice jewelry. Said it always worked for him."
Ishita leaned back against the pillows and laughed. "I cannot wait to see Mihika's jewelry box. But you must know then that as much as I love my bracelet you might want to follow Mihir's advice and spring for something more. Something really sparkly." Then she laughed some more at the look on Raman's face.
"I can see I am so going to regret telling you that. But if I hadn't Mihir probably would have taken great satisfaction in telling you himself. Anyway changing the subject. When I called you answered but I didn't say anything. I just hung up."
Ishita was surprised. "Why. Did you think I wouldn't talk to you? "
"Well you did tell me not to try and find you. So I figured the best thing to do was just show up. Less chance for you to run away." Raman paused and pulled Ishita in for a kiss. "And see it worked."
Ishita leaned closer sliding her hand under the sheet bunched around Raman's waist. "Yes, I think it worked very well."
Raman grinned mischievously and reached for the sheet Ishita was wrapped in. "you know two can play this game."
Then the phone rang causing both of them to groan.
