IshRa FF Beginning Again

Part 4

For a moment Ishita was stunned into silence at seeing Raman standing in front of her. She had known deep inside that at some point he'd come looking for her. Now that that moment had arrived she didn't know what to say.

Raman smiled "I hope your silence is a sign that maybe you're happy to see me or least aren't too angry"
"Why are you here ?" Ishita asked trying to sound very calm and steady "Has it been that long that I've forgotten how dark his eyes are" she thought. "And how easily I could get lost in them."

"Well I figured you have had 3 month to think things out so it was probably time we sat down to talk" Raman waited for a response "try to hold it together, Ravan Kumar" Raman thought "try to find the right words to win her back"
"Yes" Ishita answered slowly "I guess you're right it is time we talked. You might as well come in rather than have this discussion out here " Ishita started up the stairs and into the building "How long have you been sitting out there?" Raman quickly followed after her "Not long. I went to the cafe across the street after talking to Paatti . She was on her way to the train when I got here.'"
"She's spending a few days with her cousin " Ishita unlocked the flat and motioned Raman to the living room. "Have a seat and let me make some tea first unless you want something stronger?"
"No, tea's fine. Did you enjoy your evening out ? Paatti didn't say where you were going" Raman had wondered all evening who Ishita was with. The thought of her with another man irritated him a lot.

Ishita came back into the room with tea and snacks. "If that's your subtle way of asking if I was on a date, no I wasn't. Actually I was having dinner with my Uncle ." Ishita waited to see what Raman's reaction might be. Then smiled sweetly "Uncle was having a planning session and he wanted my participation"
Raman took a deep breath ... "I see. So he wants you to run back to them and then he'll look for a reasonable husband , like Subbu," Raman said sarcastically.
"I have a better idea. Instead of running back to them why don't you run off somewhere with me"
