TRIS

The minuet I realize that Four is Toby, this day becomes the best day of my life. After years of thinking when I'll next see him, if I'll ever see him, I finally find him. Well, he kinda found my by that locket that he gave me when we were kids.

We walk to PSHE together. It's mixed grades, and we are lucky enough to be in the same class. Will and Christina are with us too.

"Hello class. My name is Mrs Lancaster. I will be your teacher this year. Please can you stand at the back of the class. I'll read out your name and tell you where to sit." I end up next to Toby, and in front of us sit Will and Christina. Mrs Lancaster continues... "The people who you are sitting next to will be you project partners for the rest of the year. There will be NO swapping." There were many moans and some cheers. Me and Toby grinned at each other. "Your first project is to look after a robot baby for 2 weeks. You have to work together, equally and fairly."

"Come to my house tonight. My dad is on a business trip this week," Toby says.

"Okay, you take the baby first," I say handing the thing to him.

Toby walks me to maths, even though I am with Christina. Mr Waters is an OK teacher. He always goes off subject and talks about economics and how corrupt some political systems are.

After maths, we walk to music. To my surprise, Toby is waiting outside the class too, with Zeke.

"What are you doing here?" I ask them.

"We've got music too. Not many Dauntless choose it as a subject, because it is more of an Amity thing to do, so they mix up the years in Dauntless," he explains. It kinda makes sense. I'm just glad I've got another lesson with him.

"If you take a subject which another faction tends to do, they call you Divergent. We're special," Zeke adds. I raise an eyebrow at him. "Oh, in the good way," he says, just noticing what he said. I start to giggle. Will and Uriah are also in our class. Marlene and Lynn are doing art instead.

We have Tori for music.

"Okay guys. Get into groups of four to six. You choose your own song, then at the end, some groups can perform," she announces.

Me, Toby, Will, Christina, Zeke and Uriah form one group.

Christina seems to take charge. "Uriah, your on drums. Zeke on bass. Will - guitar. I'll play the piano, so Toby and Tris, you two can sing."

"But I can't sing," I protest. I hart singing in front of people I don't know well.

"Well your not Candor. I remember you used to be an amazing singer," Toby dobs me in. I stick my tongue out at him.

"Tris, seeing as it is your first day today, why don't you choose the song," Christina suggests.

"Um, How about 'Read My Mind' by The Killers?" I say.

"OMG! You like The Killers?" Zeke, Uriah and Will squeal, practically jumping up and down like lunatics.

"Yer, they're cool. My fav Killers song is 'Goodnight, Travel Well'."

"Ours is 'Bones'," Zeke says in a voice which creeps me out. That song creeps me out.

"Okaaayyy..." I say.

We practice like hell, and 10 minuets from the end of class, Tori stops everyone. "Right guys. Who wants to volunteer to perform first?" All twelve of our hands shoot up in the air. "Okay, Chriatina's group." We all start whooping as we set up.

"Tori, can you film us?" Christina asks, handing her a phone.

"Yer, sure."

As we get into the song, it is like magic. We all come together as one. We're amazing, even if I do say so myself. Uriah flips the sticks in between beats, Will and Zeke at strumming like there is no tomorrow, Christina's hands cruise up and down the piano, and me and Toby where jumping up and down on the stage, singing our hearts out.

By the time we finish the song, me and Toby are standing really close. Close enough to feel each others breaths on our faces. We laugh, gasping for breath. I stare deeply into his eyes, like I am being draw in. I feel as if I could drown in his gorgeous deep blue eyes.

"Bea, will you go out with me?" he whispers quiet enough for only me to hear. I was speechless, so all I could do was to lean forward and kiss him. His lips were so warm and soft against mine. Not rough or cold. I wrapped my arms around his waist, drawing him even closer, and he wraps his arms around my shoulders.

When we finally pull apart, we notice everyone was still cheering at us. Christina was wrapped up in Will's arms too.
