Yeah, another scrapped idea before I get into writing my other Mickwald AU book ideas. Genie!Mickey. Basically shy high school student Ophelia stumbles across a Genie Mickey's bottle, but after she releases him, he decides to stick around because he's crazy in love with her. Mostly fluff and a lot of cosplay. 😉 Enjoy!

How long had it been since Ophelia had a normal morning? It felt like weeks, so she was actually surprised to go through one today. She had managed to wake up, shower, get dressed, and even eat all without any interruptions. Ever since she accidentally brought a genie home, her mornings usually had become a flurry of accidents due to Mickey trying to be helpful to his mistress. She was tempted to run off to school without Mickey knowing, but curiosity wound up taking her to the living room of her very small school-paid apartment. To her surprise, Mickey was sitting-well, floating, quietly in front of her television completely transfixed by the screen.
Lugging her backpack over her shoulder, she called out to him "Mickey? Is everything alright?" She was grateful not to have his hands on her for once, but the lack of them was still a cause for concern. "You're actually... behaving today." Mickey looked behind him, smiling pleasantly. "Good morning, mistress! I just figured it's time I started learning more about your modern world." He vaguely gestured to the television, where an education program was teaching the viewers basic Japanese. "Being in a lamp for a thousand years means I gotta lot of catching up to do." Ophelia raised an eyebrow, still a little suspicious. "...So you're not going to follow me around today?" She had given up on telling him to stop addressing her as a mistress by this point. "You're going to stay home and be good?" Mickey floated back down to the floor, mimicking what he learned from the TV. " Sure thing. I've got a lot studying ahead of me. Have a good day at school!"
Ophelia waited a moment to see if there were any tricks up his sleeve. Most mornings, well most days, he would follow her around like a lovesick puppy, abusing his magic to find one sure fire way to make her fall for him. Yet he didn't move from his seat; his eyes were glued to screen. Her suspicions melted as her body eased. Maybe he finally understood that constant sexual harassment and magic powers weren't the way to a girl's heart; he was finally maturing. "Um...okay! You have a good day too, Mickey!" Things were finally starting to look up for her today. She closed the door quietly, feeling all her troubles leaving.
Mickey stood perfectly still until he could no longer Ophelia's footsteps. When he was sure she was gone, he grinned and snapped his fingers; his magic summoned a large pile of DVDs to his side. " Technically, I wasn't lying... I am gonna do some 'studying'!" He rubbed his fingers, surveying the pile he created. "These should be all the romance anime that girls swoon over if I used that 'internet' thing right. If I can act like these characters, Ophelia will want me for sure!" Unable to find a flaw in this plan, he began to watch the first anime film.
~Meanwhile ~ Ophelia's trouble didn't fade away so easily. There was still the matter of dealing with Daisy. As the lunch bell rang, Ophelia could feel Daisy's glaring eyes bore into her back as she left the room. Daisy still had her memory of the genie intact and was more determined than ever to get control of him. Ophelia thought she could find a way to avoid her by hiding in the girl's bathroom. She then made a beeline for her locker, but just as she finished the last combination number, the bully's shadow touched her. "Hold it right there, rabbit!" Ophelia sighed heavily, reluctantly meeting Daisy's eyes. "Hello, Daisy. Can this at least wait until I have my lunch?"
