Prompt #27: Bring-your-pet-to-work day proves a bit violent

Jerome's PoV:

I was watching daytime television, relaxing when I heard the front door open. I checked the clock on the wall, it was only 2:30. It was too early for the kids, or Ryan to be home.

I got up to investigate, not before grabbing one of Lucas' baseball bats off the floor for defense. I walked into the main entryway, and there was Ryan, taking off his loafers, and Cooper sitting by his side.

I sighed in relief, putting the bat down gently and catching their attention. Cooper walked towards me, dragging his leash behind him, which I unhooked.

"So what are you doing home so early?" I asked, scratching Cooper's ears, and Ryan sighed.

"Cooper was making all of the other dogs go crazy. He wasn't doing anything, just laying by my feet while I worked. But none of the other dogs were having that, so they made me bring him home." He explained, and I pouted.

"Who could hate Cooper?" I whispered, kissing Cooper's head before standing up to hug my husband. He returned the hug, burying his face in my neck. I blushed lightly, and nuzzled him.

"Why don't you come relax, I'll make you some tea, and you can put on whatever you want on the tv." I prompted, leading him to the couch.

He nodded, loosening his tie and flopping on the couch, Cooper next to his feet. I smiled, going to make his tea.
