32.Jay

I ran to the phone as soon as it rung in hope of getting good news.

"hello"

"may we please speak to Eva's mother"

"why"

"well we have to speak to her family right now and her list states her mother is the first to be contacted"

i went upstairs and knocked on her door. after a short while i convinced her to speak to the hospital.

i waited for them to finish, Maisie soon came to join us. we both sat on the staircase praying that Eva was healthy and safe. she hung up the phone and passed it back to me.

"mum what did they say" asked Maisie

Her eyes shifted to the side again and became glazed with a glassy layer of tears. As she blinked, they dripped from her eyelids and slid down her cheeks. She bit her lip tightly in attempt to hide any sound that wanted to escape from her mouth, my heart sank.

Her lower lip quivered as words slowly made their way out of her mouth. "They said..." She began but couldn't finish

"mum take a deep breath..take your time"

"they said that your sister made it through her coma"

we both smiled and looked at each other

"but....there was accident, they don't know exactly what happened so we need to go to the hospital."

the moment she said but both our faces fell and Maisie went over to comfort her mother when i could see that she needed comfort as well. i just went against the wall and decided that even though i want to cry and break everything apart i need to be the man right now.

Jade came out to know what the cry fest was about so i explained.

"i'm so sorry" she came over to hug me but i dodged it and walk away

"jay don't be like this...let me be there for you, your on the verge of crying and i know that your trying to be the man but please just let me help you"

i ran downstairs.

3 months:

I still find it hard to grasp the fact and idea that she is fully gone all that's left is her funeral. I still remember what happened when we reached the hospital and i saw her deceased body for a second i saw Casey and not Eva i felt disgusted with myself.

"okay so i have payed and planned everything for her funeral, now we just have to wait for the actual day to arrive" explained jade

"thank you"

"your welcome"

Maisie came and sat by me on the sofa

"how is your mum" asked jade

"what do you think?" replied maisie

"jeez i'm just asking"

"well don't. why are you still here anyway"

i joined the conversation

"she helped me plan the funeral. I know that you wanted to do it but i thought that you needed to rest and look after your mum so jade offered to help so don't worry everything is done"

"oh, well thank you jay but i would have gladly helped out in anyway possible" she sounded disappointed

"of course i know that but i just wanted to take some weight of your shoulders" she gave me quick smile before looking back at jade

"The police searched your room when you left this morning for DNA traces" commented Maisie

"what the hell..why"

"they needed to make sure you weren't a suspect"

"you mean...YOU wanted to make sure i wasn't a suspect even though i already told you that i never left my room that day"

"well how was i going to know that?"

"i gave a alibi and you refused to back it up even though you saw me in the house....we literally had a conversation"

"well doesn't matter now they have cleared you name" i interrupted

"i think jade knows who it was and honestly we should all know by now"

"for your information i don't know" muttered jade

"wow guess i'm the only smart one here, obviously It must be Ivy"

"OMG how did i not realize this before, she took Eva away because she thinks i took Bryan away" I felt so dumb for not figuring it out myself

"okay lets stop getting ahead of ourselves"

"what are you talking about jade" i asked her

"well maybe she didn't do it and if she did then obviously that would be bad but i also would understand why she did it."

"huh....wow of course your defending her" commented maisie

"i'm not..i'm just saying that image how she felt when she lost Bryan, she was on her own. We have each other to help us get through this tragic event. Plus you wanted Eva to get justice right?"

"yeah" sighed Maisie

"well Bryan never got justice since jay is still here living a great life while she was suffering. she has a good motive to do it...IF SHE EVEN DID IT"

"she did, from what i know about Bryan he killed him self right?" we both nodded

Maisie continued "well in that case he wasn't murdered so there is a difference between Eva and Bryan"

I sat there for hours listening to them arguing over what could have happened. Then jade brought up Casey and i got involved. No one was listening yet we all wanted to be heard, we argued until it got too much and Maisie walked off leaving me and Jade alone, she sat the for a while before leaving as well, soon i was left alone with my thoughts.I thought about Ivy and about how i had gotten Eva into this mess.

It isn't fair that Eva should have to pay for my past. I'm not letting ivy get away..... This isn't over
