minhee awoke to find weight pressed onto her temple. startled, she widened her eyes to feel jeongguk sleeping on her, his weight pressing onto hers uncomfortably. minhee heard soft breathing and assumed he was asleep.

she gulped and tried her best to move into a more comfortable position, but failed, considering that her head was literally squashed between jeongguk's head and shoulder.

"jeongguk," she said aloud, but no reply entered her ears.

"j-jeongguk?"

the boy stirred, but no other symptoms of awakening were noticed.

minhee laid there, her head still sandwiched against jeongguk but gulped fretfully.

she then started to wriggle her head out slowly, freeing herself but forgot that the weight from jeongguk's head started to heave to the side and resulted him making contact with the ground temple-first.

minhee shrieked, and jeongguk woke up with a start, his eyelids popping open and a sickening thud! rang throughout the bathroom.

she cursed and apologized again and again and rushed to his side.

jeongguk groaned in pain as he held his temple.

"are you okay?!" minhee asked worriedly, helping jeongguk up from his position.

"yes, i'm just peachy," jeongguk muttered, rubbing the fresh bruise.

minhee examined it. "it's already so red," she said and brushed her fingers over it, causing him to wince.

"it's fine," jeongguk swatted her hand away lightly.

minhee rushed over to the paper towels and soaked a crumpled one in cold water, squeezed the excess water out, and pressed the cool object onto the bruise, hopefully letting it swell down.

jeongguk chuckled.

"you learned well, young grasshopper."

minhee scoffed.

"i'm probably older than you, you idiot."

"really now, noona? how old are you?"

"eighteen."

"birth month?"

"july."

"darn."

"hah, i'm older. show respect for your elder."

jeongguk clicked his tongue. "elder, huh? sorry halmeoni[grandmother],"

"hey! don't make me make this bruise bigger!"

"sorry!!" jeongguk defended. "how long have we been here?"

minhee shrugged lightly. "maybe like an hour or so. i still hear people outside."

minhee patted the towel against his bruise, making jeongguk flinch with every touch.

"quit being a baby, it shouldn't hurt that much."

"i know what must've hurt, though." jeongguk said.

she raised her brow. "what?"

"when you fell from-- ow!!"

minhee huffed as she uncurled her fingers from flicking jeongguk on the cheek.

"that's mean, noona." he emphasized, smirking at her.

"shut up, you four-year-old." minhee said, continuing to press the paper towel onto the bruise, but this time, smiling.
