the two sat in vocal silence as they absorbed the sound whirring of the air conditioner whispering around them.

"hiya." jeongguk said out of the blue.

"hello." minhee responded, staring at the ground.

"well... if we're stuck in here, why don't we play twenty questions?"

minhee scoffed. "what are you? an f-boi?"

jeongguk frowned.

"i just wanna get to know my future wife, that's all,"

she grimaced but sighed and agreed. jeongguk grinned.

"okay!! what's your music taste?" jeongguk asked.

she raised an eyebrow.

"odd question, but i guess i like indie-rock, chill rock, rock, pop-rock, k-rock--"

"that's a lot of rock."

"rock like your brain."

"oof."

jeongguk pouted.

"okay! your turn."

minhee thought for a while.

"have you always been an idiot?" she asked, putting a finger under her chin and cocking her head to the side.

"hey, that's mean!!" jeongguk whined. "ask something else!"

minhee chuckled. "fine, what's your favorite color?"

"dull blue and ochre! ochre is an underrated color."

she raised her eyebrows. she expected a dull answer, like red or green.

"dull blue is simply very minimalistic and simple. it's also very compatible with other colors, too!" he gushed.

"you're rather passionate about colors." minhee said, hugging her knees.

"well," jeongguk laughed nervously. "can i tell you a secret?"

she nodded lightly.

"it's cause i'm an artist. i like to paint when i'm stressed."

minhee gleamed with excitement. "you're an artist?!"

jeongguk nodded with pride.

"wanna see a painting?" jeongguk asked.

"yes, please!" minhee exclaimed, crawling over to him.

jeongguk took out his phone and started to unlock it, but it was swiped away by minhee, who started to dial the emergency number.

"hey!! i was gonna show you my painting!!"

"show me it later!! hello? yes, uh, me and another person are stuck inside a bathroom in a cafe, yes, okay. it's min's machiatto? bght avenue, eighty-six fifty-two? okay, thank you!!" minhee hung up the call and exhaled a big sigh of joy.

"i'm finally out of here!!" she gasped, raising her arms into the air.

jeongguk huffed. "i was gonna show you my painting, but i guess not~"

minhee looked at him. "w-wait! can you show me it?!"

jeongguk chuckled and opened up his camera roll. he swiped through his photos of himself and his friends. while he was scrolling, minhee lightly blushed at the selcas of himself, which made him twice as attractive as he already was.

"found it!"

minhee broke out of her trance and found herself looking at a painting.

she smiled widely as she examined it.

"wow, it looks like a photograph!! you captured the texture of the wall so perfectly!!"

jeongguk grinned at her. "wanna see more?"

she nodded quickly. jeongguk and her ended up looking at paintings jeongguk painted with amazing detail and it usually ended up with minhee staring at it without blinking for five minutes straight, just smiling at it.

"the one i'm most proud of is this one, here," jeongguk began to search for his beloved painting until a click at the door was heard.

a police man and a boy with a slightly messy apron popped their heads in

"you two alright?" yoongi asked.
