Chapter 18: Not Your Choice To Make

"What are we doing?" Andy asked.
"We're going to survive," I answered, and he just looked confused. We walked into a store, and the guards at the lab actually put a amber alert for us so they recognized us.
"Security!" a lady yelled, and we ran to the parking lot.
"We have to go to the forest," Andy suggested, and everyone waited for an answer from me like I was the leader.
"We have to stay in the city, so we can have some food source," I explained.
"We're not going to steal!" Brandon insisted.
"Then how are we going to survive? We don't have a choice," I snapped, and the security just popped out.
"Who cares?! We just need to run!" Evelyn shouted, and we started running into random directions. Everyone had a partner but me and Ruben, and we were close enough to group up. Instead, he went with Andy and Brandon, and I was left on my own. I started running deeper into the city, and I got tackled in the middle of the street. They put their weight on me and tazed me at the spot. The guys were hidng against the bushes, and Andy knows what I'm going to do with all this power. I brought my hand out, and Andy stood up from his cover.
"Don't!" he said running the cop, and pushing him off me. The second I was about to touch the cop, Andy came in to push him out the way, and he accidentaly touch my hand. He got electricuted.
"No!" I screamed, and I saw him twitching by the electricity.
"Andy!" Brandon cried from the bushes. I crawled to him to him, and I saw his caramel colored eyes dull from all the tears of pain I left him. I screamed at myself, and I almost pulled my hair off from all the anger I had against myself. The cops got closer.
"Get away! Stay away from him!" I growled. I pointed at another direction to get rid of all the power inside me, and I started running my fingers through Andy's hair. Brandon walked to me, and shoved me out of the way.
"It had to be you to kill him, was it?" Brandon asked not making I contact with me.
"I didn't mea-"
"This is why I didn't want you with him because you'd kill him," he growled.

*Flashback*

"I love you," Andy said softly. "Do you love me back?"

"Oh my god! I love you too!" I said going for a kiss.
"Andy we-whoa!" Brandon said surprised. We stopped and looked at him.
"You guys what?" he asked.
"We need her for right now. I hope you don't mind," Brandon said taking me in frustration.
"Hey! Watch it!" I said pulling my arm back.
"Why would you kiss him? Mutants can date mutants, but you can kill him," Brandon said rushing me to the training downstairs.
"True love is true love! Why can't you let it be?" I asked crossing my arms.

*End of Flashback*

I just looked away with tears running down, almost making me drown myself. I just stood up, and I closed my eyes to find my inner self. I opened my eyes, and every cop started backing up. My hands were glowing again, so I put them on his chest. He started to glow, and the same process happened to me. We only get to change views. He was glowing the brightest white, and then a goldest shade turned into his border.
"What did you do?" Brandon asked, and I just looked at my hands.
"I gave him my curse," I answered softly, and saw some kinds of ancient signs written on my arms. It glowed black, and then faded away. Andy was standing there good as new as if nothing happened to him. A tears fell from my face, and he just walked towards me.
"Thank you," he said pulling me into a hug. I kindly shove him off, and walked away from the situation.
"Avyanna," Brandon called, and they just followed me.
"Stay away! I don't want to harm anyone else," I cried, and I ran into some other direction. Andy teleport to me just like he did when we first met. We tumbled, and then he stood us on our feet.
"Don't leave," he begged, but I just went around him.
"It's not your choice to make," I mumbled, and I just rushed off. He teleported to me again.
"You should stop trying to leave," Andy said bumping into me.
"Just leave me alone! I killed you! I gave up my curse to keep you alive, and I don't have another curse to give to the others. I need to stay away," I said shoving him out of my way.
"You did?! Why couldn't have you kept it?" he asked, and he actually step in my way this time.
"Because I love you, and I couldn't live with myself by remembering that I had killed you and did nothing about it,'' I explained getting in front of his face, and walked off.
"Then I can't live with myself knowing I can't live my whole life with you," he said grabbing my wrist. I turned to look at him right in his eyes. His eyes sparkled bright as if a stars were trapped in it, and the caramel color gave it a great contrast.
"You can find someone better than me that you can spend their life with," I snapped, knowing what I just did. I walked off into the crowd, knowing Andy had stayed in his place. I walked alone at the empty streets, having his sentence echo in my head. It repeat in my mind over and over. I walked out of the city, and I went into the forest for them not to know where I headed. I went inside the forest, and I felt eyes looking at me.
"Where are Andy and Brandon?" Ben asked, from out of nowhere. I ignored his question, and I went inside the forest.
"Avyanna!" Hayden called jogging towards my direction.
"Andy and Brandon are in the city," I said, having a feeling that he might ask a question. He got right next to me.
"Okay, but where are you heading?" he asked.
"In the forest," I answered, stepping over a fallen tree.
"Why?" he asked in a chuckled, and I looked at him with a straight face.
"Because I almost killed Andy, and I don't want to kill anyone else," I snapped.
"How did you almost kill him?" he asked, and I just go back to the fallen tree and sit on it.
"He tried to save a cop from getting electricuted with the energy I had, so he pushed him off. The second I was going to touch the cop, Andy pushed him off and touched my hand. He was dead for a minute until I gave him my curse. I had to leave the city and everyone else for me not to kill anyone. It also means you Hayden," I explained, and he just looked at me with a frown.
"It's not my choice to make, so good luck," he says, pulling me into the tightest and last hug ever. I looked at him, and gave a small peck on his check.
"Even though you were a pain in the ass in the beginning, I'm going to miss you," I said with a chuckle and tears.
"Even though you weren't mine to call, I love you in a way you remember me," he said with a soft smile stretched across his face.
"Love you too," I said, taking my last glance of him. I turn my back, and I walked to the direction I was headed to.
