Kick's POV

One Week Later

Ruthie, Jean and I sat in a corner of the room after everyone went to sleep.

"My plan is this: We wait for the look-outs to switch positions outside the window. I've stayed up almost every night for the past week and found that the time that the guards trade positions is from 1:00 a.m. to 1:08." I explained.

As I spoke, Ruthie signed. As Ruthie signed, Jean got even more excited.

"We'll need to be fast. We'll only have a small window of time. If we mess this up, our stay here will be indefinite." Ruthie pointed out.

"But if it goes smoothly, we'll be out in five minutes and we'll be in the city before sunrise. We're gonna need to wait, we'll escape on Wednesday." I said, smiling.

Crutchie's POV

All of the boys were gathered around me, waiting impatiently for me to tell them of my new plan.

"As of last night, when I went over the flaws of my previous plan, this is the new plan." I said. Before we rescue Kicks, some of us are going to sneak around the building and look in each window for her. Once we find her, our plan is in motion." I started. Albert raised his hand. I nodded.

"Ya lost me at 'building'." He mumbled. The boys laughed and I sighed.

"When I was in the Refuge, I noticed that the guards traded positions from 1:00 a.m. to 1:08. That's our window of time. The fastest boys are gonna distract the guards by Kick's room. Once those boys lead them away, a few more of us will use a ladder and climb up the window, grab Kicks, and fly like a bat out of hell and get out of there. We'll be in the city before sunrise." I said.

"Let's go now!" Driver exclaimed, standing up.

"Wait!" Race interrupted, standing up and putting is hand on Driver's shoulder. "If we snatch her too soon, the guards might get suspicious of people snatching the prisoners all the time and then Snyder will make their security more advanced and when we go to get Kicks, all of us might end up in the Refuge and we'll be in big trouble." We all stared at him. "Yes, I'm smart. Deal with it." he huffed, sitting back down.

"No. You're right." Jack said. "We're gonna need to wait. What's a day no one would expect something like this?"

"Wednesday." Finch said. "Because it's the middle of the week and you're so ready to be done with this week so you almost completely ignore the day itself." We all stared at him. "I hate Wednesdays. Bottom line." he humphed. We laughed and I nodded.

"Be ready for Wednesday, everyone. We're getting our girl back."

(A/N: Totally random author's note, but I realized that I'd said in one of my early chapters that Kicks had blue eyes, but then I said she had green eyes. I'm going to give her heterochromia iridum. This just means that she has two different eye colors. That's all, bye!)
