Davey's POV

Les and I had just walked into the Lodging House after selling our last paper. We had hear cheers and shouts from outside, so we hurried in. We weaved our way through the crowd and I could see a girl with brown hair and blue eyes. She started singing and Jack joined her. Quickly, Specs and Race started dancing and the girl was standing to the side and clapping.

"What's goin' on, Davey? I can't see nothin'!" Les complained, jumping and trying to get a better look. I looked back up and saw the girl do a leg hold and start pirouetting.

"Wow. She's really talented. And really pretty." I thought. I could feel something in my chest that made me feel really light and happy. I clapped along with the boys as Race, Specs, and Jack started dancing with her.

"Go on, Davey! Go dance!" Albert cheered.

"Oh, nonono." I said, backing up. But Albert and Henry pushed me into the circle and Jack spun her towards me. I started dancing and I looked at her face. She was laughing and smiling. Wisps of brown hair fell in front of her eyes and I couldn't help but laugh and smile, too. I must've lost footing, because we fell into a pile of wooden crates. I stood up immediately and looked to my left. She was stuck in a crate, her legs and arms dangling out from the top. She was laughing hysterically and I was, too. I held her hand and pulled her up.

Kicks' POV

I looked up at Davey and smiled.

"Hey, he's kinda cute." I thought. I looked into his eyes and I could feel my insides melt and grown light."What's this feeling? It's so sudden and new." (I'm such a theater nerd. Jeez.)

"Hey Kicks." Jack called. I turned around and stood in front of Jack. "I gots a friend who runs a little vaudeville joint. I'm sure she'd love someone that's new and fresh." My smiled grew wide.

"I'd love to meet her." I started.

"Great. Let's go now." He declared, taking my hand and walking next to Crutchie. I looked back and saw Davey and Les following close behind. Crutchie looked at me with a dopey grin.

"What?" I asked.

"You like Davey." he said, grinning. I scoffed.

"As a friend, yeah. I only just met the guy."

"I know my sista better than I know myself. I know when she has a crush on someone." he said, still grinning. I blushed and looked back at Davey and Les.

"Do I like him? Is it even possible to fall in love with someone that fast?" I asked myself.

~Le Time Skip~

We walked into a small theater and into the backstage area.

"Wow." I said, looking around.

"You kids back there! Shoo!" a lady called. I looked and saw a very elegant lady in a matching pink and purple dress/hat combo.

"Only me, Miss Medda!" Jack said, leading the way to her.

"Jack Kelly! Get over here!" she smiled, hugging Jack warmly.
