(A/N: I just wanted to write this chapter in honor of Mother's Day today. Hope you like the reference in the title and hope you enjoy!)

Kick's POV

My mom wasn't always bad.

There were times where she was really sweet.

There were times where she didn't cower wen my dad walked in.

There were times when she was actually brave.

There were times when she was actually my mother.

~Le Flashback~

This was a few weeks after my brother went missing. I was walking down the block, calling his name and shouting,
"BIG BROTHER! BIG BROTHER! WHERE ARE YOU?!" This eventually became part of my daily routine.
"KATIE!" Dad screamed. I looked back and saw him barreling at me in a rage. I ran as fast as my skinny legs would allow. Dad grabbed onto my arm and dragged me back into the house. He lifted me so that my toes were barely touching the ground. He started shaking me furiously and cursing at me. My head was going back and forth so quickly, I was sure my neck would snap. I was sobbing as this continued.
"WALTER!" Mom screamed. The shaking stopped and I looked over at the door, where my mom stood. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" She stormed over and grabbed me out of his arms. She put me on the ground and I ran into my room. I peered past my door and saw her deliver a solid punch to Dad's face. I saw him get shoved out the door and I heard the door slam. I heard her soft footsteps walk to my room. I looked up at her as she opened the door. She smiled down at me and picked me up. She carried me over to my bed and we sat down.
"Why does Daddy do that?" I asked, holding onto her.

"Daddy has a bad temper." She replied.

"Why don't we leave?" I wondered. She sighed.

"Well, Daddy needs me. He needs me to help him." We sat in silence for a few minutes after that. She took a deep breath and sat me down next to her. "Listen Katie." she said. "Daddy's been like this for a long time, you know this. But he loves you so much. He truly does." she said. I shook my head.

"He screams at me and hits me and says 'I hate you' and 'I'm gonna kill you' too much. He's never given me a kiss or a hug or said 'I love you." I informed. She went silent for a moment.

"But I love you. Me. Mama who bore you." she said.

"Mama who bore me." I echoed. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ) She smiled and nodded. She stood up and walked out of the room.

"Did you love Big Brother?" I called to her. I heard her walk back.

"What?" she asked.

"Did you love Big Brother?" I repeated.

"Yes, of course. I loved him so much." she stated.

"Then why is he gone?" I asked. She paled a bit and shook her head. She silently walked away and left me with my question, its seriousness weighing down on the room.

(This chapter seems really crappy and short, but I wanted to do something for Mother's Day and to give a little more insight on Kick's Mom. Until next time!)
