Chapter 2: "The Second Act"Arkin's POV
Infront of me was a weird looking goblin and a frightened Honami. As if predicted, I act quickly shout, "Watch out!"
I grabbed Honami's arm harshly and pulled her away before the goblin could even land on her face. In panic, I suddenly grabbed a hold of the nearest object to my right which was the dining chair as heavy as a rock, and smashed it hard onto the weird goblin who was laughing for no apparent reason. Soon after reassuring it was smashed to death green blood streamed underneath the goblin.
I looked at my best friend who was scratching her buttocks with a pained expression.
"Hey we have to get outta here let's go." I said while helping her up.
"Okay, so no 'hey are you okay'?" she made a grumpy face.
"Since I saved you, I should also be asking where's my thanks."I coldy spat back. "Ruuude~ anyway thanks! I would be a goblin chow right now." She smiled her infamous smile and were about to head out the door when we heard a witch's laugh. We both turned our heads towards the window where the goblin was once standing. The witch looked at us with a devil like smirk and followed by its annoying laugh.
"You'll never get away!" The witch screamed and swung its magic stick in circles and said "Veni Vidi Vici!" where it points at us.
"RUN!" I shouted grabbing Honami's wrist and heading for the door where we successfully escaped and soon as we got out a loud explosion came from inside of the house.
"I guess that's what the witch's spell was about" I mumbled. I glanced at my fellow best friend who is now scanning the whole area, its filled with screams, cries and even gunshots. I assume she's still shocked of whats going on, even I admit I am shocked too. As her best friend and only companion right now, I tapped her shoulder and gave her my reassuring smile when she looked at me. "Hey it's gonna be fine, we're still together nothing's gonna stand in our way. We're the best duo, am I right or am I right?" She relaxed and then pumped her fist in the air
"Right! Were gonna survive this shitty situation no matter what!" She overconfidently yelled capturing some enemies's attention "Its great to hear that but holy crap run some weirdos and cannibals are going our way!" I shouted as we both ran away from them. "What's that glob thingy?! It's throwing slimes yet its solid who the hell does that?! It's unrealistic!" Honami who kept looking back because she's being an idiot.
"Shut up and just run! We have no idea what's with these freaks! There might be something more terrifying than that" I answered, our speed almost slowing down and our breaths are running out of air.
"Hey look for a place we can hide we can't run forever!" I said exerting all effort since I can hardly breathe. "There!" Honami pointed out a warehouse which was made of cement. We waste no time running into that direction it was half the distance where we can almost reach it but the worst came. The ground was shaking so vividly to the extent that we can no longer stand
"Earthquake?!" Honami yelled dropping to the ground, then again, as if predicted, I looked straight ahead of us and saw that the ground is becoming into two I grabbed Honami's arm again to make her stand up earning a yelp from her "I'm sorry Nami but, watch out!" I pushed her to the other side as soon as the ground splitted into two, forming a wide gap between Honami and I. "What the fuck was that?!" I heard Honami yelled and we locked eyes. We have this connection sometimes where we can just look at each other's eyes and will know what's going inside our shitty head. I know she sensed something since I can too and that was when I stiffened. Honami was looking something behind me and I felt droplets of slimes down on me. "Holy shit..." I widened my eyes, I dont know what to do this thing behind me can throw solid slimes!
"ARKIN!!" Honami yelled as I closed my eyes, expecting this situation would happened, yet I wasn't ready. "Arkin run!" Honami screamed, I ignored her there was no way around,I can't even feel my legs, I...became paralized. "Arkin run! Can't you hear me?! Hey! Holy shit Arkin it's pointing its slime right behind you! Run arkin!!!" Honami kept yelling but, it was no use since, even words are unable to leave my mouth "ARKINN!!"
*Swoosh!*
Silence.
"Hey you're kinda heavy open your eyes" A voice said.
I'm alive... wait what?
I heard soft landing on the ground and two pairs of foot running towards me, I opened my eyes to see a guy with black raven hair with ruby eyes and Honami looking down at me. I felt a hand rubbed above my head, and I suddenly sat up catching my breath. "That slime can turn a person or any living things into complete cement," said the boy. "Hey Arkin relax, its fine now." Honami pat my back and turned to the glob which was burnt to ashes and back at the guy who saved me. "Thank you so much mister for saving my best friend! I hope we can repay you in any way." Honami stood up and bowed to the person. "No problem, my name's Lamenuos. And you are?" The guy named Lamenuos asked. "I'm Honami, the one you saved is my best friend Arkin." Honami grinned. I'm still sitting so I stood up to bow down slowly at Lamenuos and said my thanks to him. "We should get outta here. And ladies, you two might follow my lead since I can assure you I can protect you on our way to my guild." Lamenuos smiled.
Honami and I looked at each other for a moment, assuming he's gotta be right we agreed and followed Lamenuos to who knows where since this area of the city is never been here before.
