Chapter 6: "The Odyssey Across the Blue Seas"
Arkin's P.O.V
We left the previous building and went on to I don't know where we are going. Hiro-san is walking infront of me and I just followed him from behind. I kept my mind busy looking around so that I wouldn't be nervous or anything.
I landed my eyes at Hiro-san's back,I don't know why but I carefully studied his appearance. He has white white slick back hair, a haramaki that supports his katana and he wears a blue scarf. My eyes traveled over his katana, it is indeed a weapon for killing but it just sparks up my eye along with its gold color. I kept walking and staring at his features from behind when I didn't know he just stopped.
"Oof--" I bumped at him and rubbed my nose. As soon as I realized what happened I looked at him with a nervous expression saying, "I-I'm sorry, didn't know you stopped". "It's okay kid don't sweat it,here's our stop,this is my territory. It is where my helpers and my weapons are." He said turning around to face me.
KID?!
"Okay." I shortly replied with a frown and tried hiding it by looking down. I'm short tempered when it comes to something I don't want to hear. Since this guy here is like can slice you up in bits in 1sec, I have no guts to spat back at him plus I'm 3 inches shorter than him and have a small body compared to his huge build!
He seemed to notice Im troubled by something "Hey are you okay? Something's wrong?" He asked and shifted his position into my eye level. As soon as I saw his face, my brow twitched. "N-no, its nothing Hiro-san." I awkwardly stepped back since he was too close to my comfort. "Is that so? Alright then, lets get into business first." He said and started walking towards his guild. Many of his helpers greeted him with a bow and he politely waved back with a smile.
A guy approached us with a smile,the ones you can tell its fake, but this guy's smile was just genuine. "Yo partner what's up? Oh you brought new recruit?" The guy greeted Hiro. "It's Lamenuos recruit, she seems to have the badge of a dragon so she's going to learn from us starting now." Hiro said removing his blue scarf, it revealed a huge scar across his neck. I wonder how he survived since it's so close to it's nape. I noticed the two were staring at me and I get what they're waiting for.
"Right, Im Reyn Reiju. It's nice to be with the two of you, I'll try to cope up with anything." I introduced myself with a bit enthusiast in my voice and bowed down. "It's nice being with you two, but Im afraid I can't I'll be out of town for 2days." The unknown guy said with an apologetic smile. "When are you leaving?" Hiro asked quite surprised. "3 days from now, I'm on my quest to protect a village, its quite small so Im fine handling it alone." The guy answered. "That's a shame." Hiro said sighing. The guy with red hair handed out his hand. "By the way Im Ranbu Nakai, Hiroshi's half brother." Ranbu explained while I shaked hands with him.
"Alright you guys enough chitchat. Reyn come with me we'll start picking your katana, a katana that wants you as its weilder"
Hiro led me to a room and upon opening it,it was full of different types of katanas. I was mesmerized by the beauty that this room have. "Now,stand in that circle, as its wind swirls around you then your very own katana will appear and will fully-pledge serve you." Hiro smiled looking at me which I nodded. I went in the blue circle and soon enough wind swirls around me, I feel cold and droplets of water were visible and were falling against my skin. I suddenly closed my eyes when I felt both warm and cold temperature engulfed my chest. Not for long, the wind stopped and soon as I opened my eyes a black covered katana is placed below me.
"Congratulations on obtaining your very first item Reyn." Ranbu grinned. I took the katana and walked over to Ranbu and Hiro. "Im not really the type to say this but, I'LL DO MY BEST DURING TRAINING!" I shouted while bowing down my head at them. I just feel so overwhelemed ever since I touched this katana. They both chuckled making me look at them "That's cute~ ofcourse you'll be at your best when you're training with me." Hiro smirked though I didn't twitched a brow I felt more like nervous now.
"I wonder how long can you keep up though." Hiro said with invisible devil aura behind him.
