Chapter 37

Betty POV

It was 3:37am and I was woken up by my phone ringing I pick it up.

"Hello?"

"Betty hey.... it's Sweat-Pea."

"Swear-Pea What are you calling me for at.....3:38am?"

"I'm at the hospital......Jug was shot."

As soon as he see that it felt like time stoped and one million thought raced threw my mind. Was he ok? Who shot him? If he dies how am I going to tell the kids? How will I cope with raising 3 kids on my own? I feel tears start to form in my eyes I can't lose him he means so much to me.

"Is he ok? What happened? Who shot him?....." I say about to cry then Sweet-Pea cut me off

"Betty calm down. Just get to the hospital as fast as you can. I ....I don't know what's happening. Just get hear quick."

"I will be there soon I just need to get V to watch the kids." I say and I hang up and call V I get up and start pacing up and down then she answers

"B what's up why are you calling so early in the morning?"

"Jug.....Jughead was.......was....shot. I need you to come to and watch the kids why I go and see him."

"Oh my god!!! I'm on my way. Archie get up we need to go to Betty's now!!!!!" Then I hung up and quietly get changed into some clothes then Veronica knocked on the door and I ran down the door to see Veronica in her pyjamas and a very tired looking Archie with a really bad bed head. She pulls me into a hug.

"B are you ok."

"Yes I just got of the phone with Sweet-Pea." I say with tears still in my eyes

"We can watch the kids well I will Archie will probably just sleep on the couch."

"Thanks guys really." I say grabbing my keys and my phone and driving in the car to the hospital. I get out and sprint into the hospital. I saw Sweet-Pea day in the waiting room with Fangs and they where both covered in blood. I walk over to them and stand in front of them.

"What happened?"

"The Ghoulies stormed the bar and started shooting and then......then one of them shot Jug and and then we brought him hear." Fangs says clearly up set I couldn't hold back the tears and sit next to them and start to cry. Then Sweet-Pea wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into a hug. "What if I lose him?"

"Betty don't think about that. You won't."

"But what if I do. The last thing me and Jug did was fight. I.....I don't want that to be the last thing me and Jug did......the last thing I said to him was.....to get out." I say and begin to breakdown more.

"Betty that won't be the last thing you said or did with Jug."

We sit in the waiting room for hours anxiously waiting for any news about Jughead. I was asleep on Fangs shoulder when he shakes me awake. I look up and see a nurse standing in front of use.

"Are you all hear to see Mr Jones?" The nurse says

"Yes we are. Is he ok?" Sweet-Pea says

"He's in a stable condition but he is still unconscious. We don't know when or even if he will wake up." She says

"Can we see him?" Fangs asks

"Yes but only one at a time until tomorrow one person can stay with for the night there is a sofa that you can sleep on and try to keep it positive and try and convince him to come back. He's in room 152." She says and walk away

"Betty you should se him first." Sweet-Pea says looking at me

"Ye. You should see him first and you can stay with him if you want."

"Thanks for being hear guys."

I walk down to his room and as I stand out side the door I take a deep breath and push the door open. He was laying lifeless on a hospital bed with wires,monitors, machines and IVs coming off of him his hair was in his face and he had a tube in his mouth helping him breath. "Oh Jug." I say with tears standing to fill my eyes I walk over to him and hold his hand.

"Jug I'm so sorry for kicking you out. If I hadn't done that then non of his would have happened." I say beginning to cry a little I take deep breaths and brush the loose hair behind his ear. "I love you. Please don't give up. Keep going. I can't lose you. The kids can't lose you. I'm going to let Sweets and Fangs see you for a little bit. I'm going to go see the kids. I will be back later. I love you." I say standing up kissing his head then walking out into the hall way I tell Sweet-Pea and Fangs go in why I go see the kids I drive home I take the long way home so I have time to myself to just think.

I pull into the drive way and it was 6:53am I take a deep breath and walk into the house and see Archie passed out on the couch and Veronica sipping tea I shut the door and her head shot towards me.

"B. How is he?"

"He's stable. But he's unconscious and they said they don't know when he will wake up or if if he will ever wake up." I say starting to cry again she pulls me into a hug.

"B it's ok." After a few minutes I calm down and let them go home and sit on the couch. I decided to call my sister and tell her what's happening and she said she was flying out I told her she didn't need to but she insisted because she really likes Jughead. After I had hung up and then the kids came down the stairs.

"Mommy where's daddy?" Blue says looking around

"Maybe he went to poop." Juliet says with a giggle making me laugh

"No kids can you all come and sit down I need to tell you something."

"Come one guys." Ryden says sitting next to me and patting the spot next to him they walk over so we are all sat on the couch.

"Kids your dad his in the hospital."

"Is he ok?" Juliet asks

"He should be ok.But they don't know he's asleep and they don't know if hes going to wake up. So later we can go and see him if you want."

"I want to see daddy mommy." Blue says

"I want to see daddy." Juliet says

"I will see dad with you mommy." Ryden says

"Ok we just need to get ready then."

I get the kids there breakfast and dressed. Polly said she would be in hear in an hour or so.
