Work It Out ~ Bughead

Chapter 41

Betty POV

I was sat next to Jugheads hospital bed holding his hand as a nurse changed the dressing on his abdomen. When she was done she left. I run my fingers along the names on his left peak they said

Betty
Ryden
~
Blue
Juliet

I've never really noticed the dash before so I decided to ask him.

"Jug."

"Mmm."

"What's the dash for?"

"Oh.Uhhh. We never thought of a name."

"A name....Oh." I say looking down Jughead takes both my hands in his and makes me look at him

"I didn't want to bring it up when I got it. It was maybe a week after it happened I thought it was to soon. And I just never got around to talking to you. So.....We need a name." He says looking into my eyes "if you don't want to it....." i cut him off

"Jamie Taylor Jones." I say with a smile

"I love it. Works for a boy or a girl." I smile and give him a kiss

I lay on the bed next to him and snuggle into him. Polly,Veronica and Archie have been looking after the kids why I stay with Jughead. He's been improving and can walk but he has a limp. We where sat just cuddling on his bed when there was a knock on the door I get up and sit on the chair next to Jug keeping tight hold off his hand.

"Come in?!" Jughead shouts and a second layer a doctor pushes the door open with a smile on his face.

"Hello Mr and Mrs Jones. Mr Jones how are we today?" The doctor asks picking up and flipping threw the clipboard that was on the end of his bed.

"A lot better. I can't wait to go home though."

The doctor puts the clipboard down and smiles at Jughead "Well everything looks good and you seem to be heeling fine so I'm happy to discharge you. But if I do there are some thing you have to do."

"Sure. What is it?"

"Well first your dressing has to be changed at least twice a day. You have to stick to your painkillers. You can't do any kind of straying physical activity's. And there is a few other things that are noted on the discharge papers. I will go get them for you now." He says as he leaves

"Juggie you get to come home!" I say kissing him

"I can't wait Betts. I love you."

"I love you too." I say kissing him again

I signed the discharge papers and helped Jug pack his stuff I brought him some stuff like cloths and books a few days ago. He was wearing a pair of sweatpants and a tshirt with a grey hoodie. He put his arm around my shoulders as I help him walk to the car. I drive us home and help Jughead out off the car and to the door. I open the door and know one is home I sit Jughead on the recliner and hand him the remote and he gives me a kiss. I text Polly and see where she is and she said she just took the kids to the park for a bit. I go in to the kitchen and get me and Jug both a cup off coffee I walk back to the living room and put his coffee in the table next to him "Betty you didn't have to I need to move at some point." He says with a chuckle

"I know but I wanted to." I say giving him a kiss. I sit on the couch and after about 2 minutes Jughead stands up I look at him confused and then he sits next to me and pulls me to his side. We watch Ferris Bueller's day off and cuddle on the couch about 10 minutes in there was a knock on the door Jug pauses the film and I get up to answer the door when I open the door I see a woman I've never seen before stood there.

"Hello?"

"Hello. Dose Jughead live hear?"

"Depends. Who are you?"

"I'm Gladys Jugheads mother."

Then I hear a groan come from the living room I turn around and see Jughead limping over to us.He stands next to me and wraps his arm around my side and pulls me next to him.

"What are you doing here?" He says looking at her dead in the eyes

"I....." She starts But is cut off by the kids shouting

"Daddy's home!!!!" And all three of them running into Jugheads legs nearly knocking him over.

"Hey guys. Why don't you go in with Auntie Polly and choose a film for us all to watch?" He says look at Polly who had just followed the kids down the path she walks in with the kids and to the living room

"You have kids? And where did you go?" Jugs mother asked

"Yes I had kids. 3 with my lovely wife. And if you must know I was in the hospital." Jughead says pulling me closer to him and kissing my head

"Oh? Are you ok?"

"I'm fine not that you should care. Look I've made my mind up. You basically replaced me and JB and never gave us any explanation so. No I don't want to reconnect with you or meet your other family. I have my own family right here and I could never leave them and they would never leave me."

"I understand." She says looking down

"If you will excuse us we have a movie to watch with the kids. But I am sorry that your I'll."

"Jug. I'm sorry for leaving you and JB. And your family seems great." She says and she walks away

I shut the door and kiss Jug and say "you ok?"

"Yes. Now let's go watch that film." We walk to the living room and cuddle on the couch with the kids why Polly sits in the recliner with her feet up.

This is my family and I'm happy and there happy. It really looks like me and Jug could Work It Out.
