Best friend. It echoed in Grey's head. Oh. That's...cool. Corrie laughed nervously, then broke the silence. "So...do you want to play a board game?" Grey smiled, happy to make the awkwardness end. "Yeah, the board game closet is over there. I need to go to the bathroom real quick. Be right back." He grabbed his phone and ran to the bathroom.
He locked the door and sat on the ground, quickly texting his sister.
Grey- Emily HELP
Emily- What do you want?
Grey- Corrie's here, because I couldn't ask her to the movies cuz I'm too nervous, and now it's awkward and I'm not sure if I should ask her to the movies now because she said I'm her best friend!!!
Emily- Oooww Dude! Friend zone much?
Grey- I knoooowwww
Emily- Well, I'm sure she likes you and is just too nervous to say so. You know Corrie, she never shows when she has a crush.
Grey- Well ok, but should I ask her to the movies right after a hangout here? It feels too close together, like she'll know I like her and stuff
Emily- Dude, stop being a wimp and just ask her. Girls like to know if guys like them anyway before a date. So just ask her! It's not "too close" or whatever. Bro, just do it and stop being a whiney loser.
Grey- K. Thanks for the pep talk. 🙄
Emily- What else do you want? Just do it dumb ass!
Grey- Ok ok! I'm going! I'll ask her now!
Emily- Ok stop talking to me and GO
Grey- Ok I'm going!
Emily- JUST GO ALREADY
Grey- K bye. Love ya sis!
Emily- Love you too dude. Now GOGrey put his phone back in his pocket and flushed the toilet to pretend he was actually going to the bathroom. He turned the sink in for a minute then opened the door and walked out, ready to ask Corrie out.
He got to the living room and saw she had already set up a monopoly board. "Jeez you took long enough." She said sarcastically. She lifted up the monopoly pieces. "Ok so you can't be the wheelbarrow cuz that's mine. I like wheeling it across the squares like a real wheelbarrow." She said, holding the small metal figure up to her face to look at it closely. God she's so cute. She held up the other pieces on her palm. "So do you want to be th-"
"Do you wanna go to the movies this weekend?!" Grey blurted out. Smooth.
