Wren's P. O. V.

"Jack you ready to go?" I asked.

"Yeah, I'm coming." He walked slowly into the living room.

"Okay. Daniel, you're sure you don't wanna come?"

"There's no point. I can't do anything to bring her back," he said slumping his shoulders.

"I'm sorry bud," I said giving him a quick hug.

"It's whatever. You guys go."

"We'll see you tomorrow. Bye guys!" We both walked out to the car filled with Jess's boxes.

We started the drive and Jack was unusually quiet. He looked really tired and he wasn't singing to any of the songs I played.

"Babe, you okay?" I asked, sliding my hand into his free hand.

"Yeah, just tired," he told me giving me a smile I knew was fake.

"Do you want me to drive?" I asked. He started shaking his head, but then he squeezed his eyes shut and a few tears slipped from his eyes.

"Baby, pull over." He did as I said and pulled into a gas station.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"My head is killing me, I think I'm getting sick," he whispered. I put my hand on his forehead and sure enough, he was burning up.

"You definitely have a fever. I'll go get some medicine for your headache and a sprite, okay? You switch seats so I can drive," I told him. He slowly nodded and I kissed his forehead. I grabbed my purse before walking into the gas station and buying what I needed.

After I paid, I walked back to the car and hopped into the driver's seat. I gave Jack the medicine and he swallowed the pills with his sprite. He leaned the seat back and closed his eyes. I put my hand in his and intertwined our fingers.

"We'll get to the hotel in about an hour, okay babe?"

"Okay," he whispered. he kissed my hand before letting it rest in his lap.

"Jack, baby," I whispered gently shaking him.

"Hm?"

"We're here. Let's go inside." I unbuckled his seatbelt and he slowly leaned his seat back up. I got out of the car, grabbing our bags and walking to Jack's side of the car. He took his bag from my hand so I wrapped my arm around his waist.

We walked into the hotel and checked into our room before heading to the hotel. Jack dropped his bags on the floor and walked over to the bed, falling onto it. I smiled as I set my bags down. I changed into some shorts and a tank top before walking over to the bed. I helped Jack get undressed, leaving him in his boxers. We climbed under the covers and pulled them over us. Jack was next to me, laying his head on my chest and wrapping his arms around me. I ran my left hand through his hair, and my right hand rubbed his back.

"You still feeling bad?" I asked him.

"You're making me feel better," he said kissing my exposed chest.

Soon, his soft snores told me he was asleep. I kissed his head before falling asleep, too.

                                                                                 ***

I woke up feeling cold. Jack wasn't in the bed with me anymore. I sat up and stretched, rubbing my tired eyes. I heard Jack coughing in the bathroom, so I got up and put a sweatshirt on before knocking on the door.
