Chapter 32: parenting 101

Kai POV

As I returned home I checked and see if Mina was home but she wasn't. I was sort of glad and disappointed that she wasn't here, glad I didn't have to explain to her yet about our new permanent guest and disappointed that my love isn't here and I'll be sleeping alone again tonight. I sighed shaking my head.

I shouldn't dwell on it, I have other things to worry about....

I turned to face the kid who was looking around at the house in awe. It isn't as fancy as L's house but it's perfect for me and Mina.

Nice two bedrooms and two bathrooms. I big enough kitchen to make whatever my fiancé wants and I even constructed a meditation/ magic room for Mina to study in or for whatever reason else.

"Alright why don't we have some dinner then get ready for bed?" I suggested leading her to the kitchen. She nodded and followed me.

I entered the kitchen and lifted the kid up to the chair as I saw her glancing around the kitchen probably wondering what all of these things are.

I went inside the fridge to grab and immediately cut two large slices of lasagna and placed it in the microwave to heat up.

"Wat that!?" The kid ask stopping me from placing the food inside.

"Oh this is a microwave." I answered her placing it in and inputting the time for it to heat up.

"Mi-cro-have?" She said the word slowly like it was the first time she had heard it.

"Yes but it's wave." I said and did a silly wave motion which made her giggle. I smiled and went to the fridge to get some salad because a balanced meal is always the best choice.

Look at me! Already thinking like a parent. I laughed at myself.

After finishing the salad the lasagna was done heating and I place the food in front of her.

"Dig in." I gestured to her food.

She slowly took a bite out of it then her eyes widened as she moaned from the taste and it made me smile knowing that she likes it. "Good is it?" I ask already knowing the answer.

She nodded vigorously while scarfing down the food." Food ggooddff!" She said munching happily. After 3 or 4 bites she finished the lasagna then eyed the salad. She smelled the lettuce and recoil away from it not liking the smell. I wanted to tell her that it's rude to do that but I let it go.

She'll learn over time...

"Don't worry it taste fine." I assure her

She took another bite hesitantly but nodded approvingly by the taste and finished it only leaving the cucumbers.

Hmm..she doesn't like cucumbers, noted.

After I was done I placed the dirty dishes in the dishwasher for me to turn on later.

"Ok done. Now it's time for a bath." I said turning to face her.

"Bath?" She said tilting her head a bit. I nodded and guided her to the bathroom. And let me tell you she wouldn't sit still and I could see why L struggles with Eliza which made me giggle at the thought.

"Hold still you little booger!" I said playfully and she giggles and says that it tickles.

I was a bot sad looking at her. Her body was malnourished, too skinny for normal squids. Her dark purple tentacles were loosing color too. But give her a few weeks of good food and shelter she'll be back in good health in no time.
