Abbie's POV

The taxi I sat in still had cigarette smoke from the passenger before me. I crinkle my nose from the odor. I'm not saying don't smoke. I'm just saying don't smoke in a freaking taxi for crying out loud.

"I'm going to Auto Parts, it's the car shop by that convenient store." I tell the driver.

"Abigail?," the voice grumbled.

I instantly recognized it, "Harold?"

"Abigail, bet you didn't know I was a taxi driver too!" He chuckled, then he started hacking.

"No Harold, I didn't," I grumble. "Now, please take me to the Auto shop."

"I can do that!" He peps up.

The ride was awful. Harold kept asking stupid questions. At one point he asked me if I wanted some of his liquor. I asked him if he was drinking and driving. He answers by burping, and swerving. I was lucky we made it to the shop alive.

"Here Harold," I handed him a wad of cash.

"No, you keep that beautiful!" He smiled shoving the money back at me.

"Thanks Harold," I say turning around and leaving. I felt awkward because I knew he was staring at my butt.

"Your car is ready!" The mechanic called to me. My shiny old Cadillac stood in the middle of an abandon lot, behind the auto shop. The car shined bright, they must have waxed it too. It's the least they could do after waiting so long.

They hand me back my keys, and I wave goodbye to them as they left. I open the door and sit down in the hot, leather seat. I put the keys in the ignition and crank it. Sounds good. Looking around, I notice I forgot my purse inside.

"Crap," I mumble.

Taking the key out I open the door back up. I take a few steps away from the car. All the sudden I hear an ear screeching explosion. The force made me fly forwards, and tiny pieces of glass speared my back. I tried to keep my eyes open, but the pressure of my eyelids was to much. I blacked out.

I feel dizzy as I arouse. When I finally gain enough strength to completely open my eyes, I notice I'm in a hospital room. To the right of the hospital bed is Megan, going through a file of papers. She turns her head to see me looking at her.

"You're awake!" She proclaims. "I brought you a t-shirt and pajama pants from your house, in case you wanted to change." She hands them to me, and I go to the bathroom to change.

I put on my pants, but before I put on my shirt I look at my back in the mirror. Cuts and burns cover it. I touch it with one of my fingers and almost gasp in pain.

Putting my shirt on I walk back into the main room.

"How long have I been out?" I ask in a raspy voice.

"A couple of hours, five at the most," she responded. I sit back down on the bed. "The doctor said we will be out of here in soon. But in the meantime, you might want to check out the pictures from the scene." Megan hands me a file full of pictures and papers.

There was a picture of my car, burnt to a crisp, another of the burnt up, pressure sensor bomb, but there was one that really caught my eye and made me grimace.

It was a picture of words written on the ground in chalk.
