Abbie's POV
Damn, who thought Megan had it in her to tell Joycelyn off like that. Maybe next she will turn into the Incredible Hulk next and break free of these stupid handcuffs. Fiddling with these things is rubbing red marks on my wrists.
I look up to see what Megan is doing. Her and Joycelyn are still going at it. I wonder if she's buying me a little time to...
Wait a second.
I look over at Joycelyn's hip. A set of keys hung on it, and there right in the middle of them, was the key to the handcuffs.
If there was just a way I could grab them without her noticing.
Megan looked down at me, I flashed my eyes to the set of keys. She gave me a quick nod and continued to bicker. I got of my knees and walked towards the two.
Almost there...
"What do you think your doing?" A manly voice asked grabbing me from behind.
Damn it, it's freaking Jeff.
"Oh you know... Funny story actually,"
I head butt him from behind, he stumbled backwards. I'm about to go for a punch when I realize my hands are still cuffed. I guess a kick will have to do.
I kick Jeff, and he falls on his back. Walking up to him, I put my foot on his throat. I start to push my weight onto his neck when I hear Joycelyn yell my name.
Leaving my foot in it's position, I pivot my body.
"Let him go, or I slice her neck."
Joycelyn held Megan by the hair forcing her head back, revealing her throat where a knife hovered.
"Abbie, she's bluffing!" Megan called, forcing Joycelyn to bring the knife closer to her neck. The knife now touched her skin causing Megan to whence.
"Either you let him go, or I kill your friend."
"You're bluffing." I yell back.
"We both know I am not buffing. Now it's your choice, kill Jeff and I kill Megan... Or let Jeff go, and maybe you can keep your friendship in tact."
"Abbie I swear if you take your foot off his throat I will come over there and knock some sense into you myself."
"You won't be able to, you'll be dead."
Dead, there's that word again. Death, deceased, killed, no longer living.... Lifeless. The words ran through my mind. Drew, Sasha, Chief...
I let anyone else die, I just can't. I won't.
I slowly bring my foot off Jeff's throat. He scrambles to his feet gasping for air. I drop my head once again, today is just full of defeat.
"Abbie, what the hell!" Megan yells after Joycelyn loosens her grip, still keeping her close.
Jeff grabs my shoulder and leads me to Joycelyn. As soon as we get there Jeff lets drops me and I fall to my knees.
"Shit dude, do you think you could have been any rougher," I add a spiteful edge to my words.
"Yeah, I probably could have."
Rolling my eyes, I turn back to Joycelyn.
"Your henchman is an idiot."
"Who said he was my henchman?" Joycelyn glides to Jeff and plants a kiss right on his lips.
"Oh, ew." Megan says making a disgusted face.
"How do you know Jeff here isn't the mastermind behind everything." Joycelyn walk back over to me. "How do you know we haven't been a step ahead of you the whole time." She tilts me chin up so I have to look her dead in the eye. "How do you know every single step you and Megan have made, has just been another step to fulfill our plan?"
"Wait so are you two dating?" Megan asks still disguised by the kiss.
"Even better." Joycelyn walks back up to Jeff and holds his hand up, a shiny ring glistened.
"We're married." She kissed him again.
"Didn't see that one coming," Megan mumbled.
"Yeah, neither did I," I whispered back.
"So! Back to business. Where were we at before the whole fighty kicky thing happened."
"Wait, what do you mean you're the mastermind behind all of this?" I say confused, thinking over the words Joycelyn said before.
"I see you pay attention. I mean what I say."
"No, Sasha was the mastermind behind all of this, not you two."
"Oh, her, love the girl but she a little messed up in the head... Or was messed up in the head... You see I was able too mourn a loss and get over it. Sasha on the other hand, Sasha had something different in mind. She became very..." Joycelyn searched for the correct word.
"I guess you could say involved in her little game. She took it to the next level, but I never wanted anything to do with it... Until you two got incorporated into the mess. You made the game more interesting. I have always hated you two and the fact Sasha now wanted to do something about it. Oh, the splendor. And you won't even guess what she did."
Joycelyn paused. She wanted us to respond. She wanted us to go along.
Bitch be trippin.
"Oh, you two are no fun. You guys were suppose to say what. Jeff, say what."
"What?"
"I'll tell you. Sasha left me to deal with you two."
