Emma
I rubbed my eyes and sat up. Where am I, I looked at the bedroom around my, my vision focusing. Alex's room? I looked at Alex. We apparently slept in the same bed, luckily his bed was a futon and big enough so we both had our space. He had the blanket covering his body, he slept in his underwear... awwkkwarrdd!! I looked out the window and the sun was shining. I quickly turned to the alarm clock on Alex's bedside table. 11:26!! I jumped up and realized that I was in only a T-shirt of Alex's and his boxers. What the heck, when did this happen?
I looked at Alex and shook him. "Alex," I said. "Alex, wake up!" I shook him. He rubbed his eyes.
"Good morning," He said.
"Morning? It's almost the afternoon! We're late for school!" I shrieked.
"Calm down," Alex said sitting up. He put his hand on my shoulder. "Emma, why don't we just take a day at the mall," Alex suggested.
"Alex, we need to go to school!" I said.
"It's almost noon! We will have only three hours of school left, let's go to the mall!" Alex tried to get me to do it. He sat right next to me, at the edge of the bed. I smiled remembering what happened that night, when we held hands.
"Okay," I blushed. Alex looked awestruck.
"Really?!" He said.
"Yeah, but can we run to my house before we go? You know, so I can change?" I asked.
"I have the clothes you were wearing last night, I washed them for you..." Alex said. My face got red.
"Thank you," I said. He stood up and I covered my eyes.
"Oh, sorry about that, not used to having another person here right when wake up..." Alex said slipping a pair of shorts on.
"It's okay, and do you know how I got into these clothes?" I asked.
"Well, you did, but I had to help because you were so tired, I hope you don't mind..." Alex said. Oh gosh, Alex saw me almost naked...
"It's... okay.." I stammered.
"I'll go make some breakfast, you're clothes are over there, I'll let you get dressed," Alex the left. I sighed. Am I really going to be ditching school? Yes, I am, and I am going to be spending it with my best friend.
I smiled and quickly changed into my clothes. I ran my fingers through my hair and walked out of Alex's bedroom. I wrinkled my nose. I knew that Alex saw me.
"I know, I'm sorry," he grabbed me around the waist and showed me to the back porch and we sat down at a table. We both ate our eggs and bacon in silence. I wanted to bring up last night, but it never happened.
"Mom, I'm going to the mall, see you later," Alex called to his mother.
"Get a life moron!" She called back. I was shocked.
"Does she say that to you all the time?" I asked Alex.
"Yep," He replied shutting the door.
"That's terrible."
"I'm used to it..." Alex said. I noticed that he had the keys to his parents car.
"You aren't planning on driving are you?" I asked in a panic.
"How else do you expect to get there?" He asked me.
"By bus?"
"Emma, don't be silly, I'm thirteen, we'll be fine. I learned to drive in fifth grade, it's all good!" He smiled. I took a deep breath, putting all my faith in God that Alex wouldn't kill us. I must have been showing my fear when I got into the front seat, because Alex grabbed my hand.
"Don't worry, I know how to do this. And I look old enough to drive!" Alex gave my hand a peck, which calmed me down.
"Oh, well okay then!" I put my seat belt on and so did Alex. He started the car. He backed out of the drive way and started to go down the road.
I turned up the radio and there was a song from One Direction playing. One that I recognized, What Makes you Beautiful. I smiled and looked at Alex. He had one hand on the wheel, one arm out the window and RayBan's on. How hot he did look. I started to sing along and Alex looked at me. He smiled and I stopped.
"Keep going, I like hearing you sing," He smiled. I grinned from ear to ear and started to sing again, this time Alex joined in.
"I dedicate this song to you," Alex said.
What? Alex likes me? Have I really been that oblivious?
