Emma
"Nice driving skills," I complimented Alex after he locked the car.
"Told you we wouldn't die! And you doubted me!" Alex laughed as we walked into the building.
"I know, I was wrong, you are a very good driver!" I smiled.
"Yeah, I got skillage!" He made me laugh. Alex held the door open for me. I blushed, never having that been done before.
"Thank you," I said.
"Of course," Alex replied.
"So what do you guys usually do at the mall?" I asked, the only time I had been to the mall was when I was with my mom, and we were getting a phone case for her new iPhone4s. I never went in one of the stores, just walked past them.
"Well, I was thinking we could get you some stuff!" Alex smiled.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"You know, whole new wardrobe type thing?" Alex suggested. I was taken aback.
"You don't like my style?" I asked. Alex looked at me. I was a very vintage, casual look.
"I'm kidding Emma, I love how you dress, let's just walk around and see what trouble we can get into!" Alex smiled at me. I smiled too, he liked how I dressed!
"Well, thank you!" I said. We walked around and every store that I found something cute in, Alex would buy for me. He had saved up quite a salary working for Dick's Sporting Goods.
"Alex, you know you don't have to but anything for me!" I said.
"I know, but what else am I going to do with all this money?" He asked me.
"Spend it on something that you want."
"Well, let's just say that everything that you want, I want!" Alex grinned. I playfully rolled my eyes.
"Are you starting to get hungry?" Alex asked me.
"A little," I replied.
"You up for pizza" He asked me.
"Sounds great!" I smiled and we walked to the food court. We got pizza at a place called Bellyfuls. I smiled at the cheesy name. I ordered a small slice of pepperoni pizza with a small Dr. Pepper and a cookie. Alex ordered cheese pizza, with a medium Dr. Pepper. He didn't like to eat anything sugary, he said he had to keep a pretty healthy diet. He hasn't eaten chocolate since sixth grade. We sat down at a table on the outer side of the food court, having people watching me eat made me nervous, all though, not many people were there, mainly because school wasn't out, so it was full of goths that think they are cool, because they are skipping school. Well, I was too, but it was normal for them. We were silent I thought about Alex liking me, and I knew we couldn't keep in inside forever. And I knew for a fact that he was thinking about it too. "So.." I said as Alex took a bite of his pizza.
"So," he said when he finished chewing.
"That was fun last night," I dared to say.
"Yeah, lot's of fun," Alex said.
"So..." I tried to not make it awkward.
"So..."
"There's a whole lot of so's going on..." I sighed.
"Yeah..." Alex replied. It was really awkward.
"You know what, I'm just going to come right out and say it," I started. "Do you like me?"
"Emma," Alex began. "You know you and I have been best friends forever..."
"Yeah," I continued on.
"And I have known you forever."
"Ya."
"And we spend almost everyday together..."
"Yes we do."
"So I guess that," Alex said. I adjusted how I sat, I was so ready for what he was going to say. It was like an intense moment in one of those competition shows, waiting to know which one of the contestants was getting eliminated.
"I'm listening..." I said.
"I'm in love with you."
