Alex

I had my mom drive me to Emma's house, she was going to be the one taking us to the dance. It wasn't that far, it took us about two minutes to get there. It was six forty-five, an hour and fifteen minutes until the dance started. We were going to eat dinner, so I wanted to give us a good amount of time. I walked up to the door in my tux, with an aqua tie, Emma said that was the color of her dress, so I wanted to match. I knocked on the door and looked back at my mom, she gave me a thumbs up and walked towards me. The door opened and Emma's mom stood there and said hello to us. She let us in and told us that Emma was upstairs putting the finishing touches on. I smiled and my mom and Emma's mom started to blabber on about each other's lives.

Emma's dad walked out and started to talk to me. "Hello Alex," He said to me. I shook his hand, even though I had already met him.

"Mr. Watson," I said.

"What's your plan for tonight, you know that she's my baby girl," He looked at me.

"Yes sir, and I was just going to take her to dinner, then go to the dance and have a good time," I tried to make it sound as less-cheesy as possible.

"Where are you taking her?" He asked.

"Olive garden," I replied.

"Very nice, don't you get touchy with her," He said in a very firm voice.

"No sir, we are just going as friends," I confirmed.

"Good to hear," He smiled and started to chuckle. "Now that we got that out of the way, how are you Alex? You're starting to look really great, working out pays off huh?" He looked at me. I smiled.

"Yeah, gotta keep my position on the team somehow!" I made him laugh and then Emma cleared her throat at the top of the stairs. I immediately stood up and walked towards the end of the stairs to meet her there. I looked at her dress, it was beautiful. She looked beautiful. Her hair was curled and she was wearing make-up. Her dress fit her perfectly, and it matched my tie perfectly! She got to the end of the stairs and I grabbed her hand.

"You look.." I was lost for words. "Beautiful!"

"Thank you," Emma blushed.

"My baby girl!" Emma's mom said and ran to her to give her a hug.

"Whoa, mom, I have heels on, don't knock me over!" She struggled to keep her balance. I smiled.

"Ooh! Let's take pictures!" My mom grabbed her camera and Emma and I stood together to pose. We took so many pictures that my cheeks hurt when we finally finished.

"Can we go eat now?" Emma said. It made me laugh.

"Yeah, let's go!" I said.

We took three more pictures and were out the door. I sat in the back seat with Emma. "You look great!" I said.

"Thank you, you look pretty spiffy yourself," She smiled at me.

"Are you ready to get your groove thing on?" I said jokingly.

"For sure!" She laughed. We sat the rest of the car ride, about five minutes, it was silent. Before walking in my mom slipped me her credit card and told us that she would be here at seven forty-five to pick us up. I said bye to her and Emma told her thank you. We walked inside and got a table.

We ate and I saw a few of my friends there. I still couldn't get over how good Emma looked. We ate quickly and my mom picked us up at the time she said she would. "Did you enjoy your dinner?" She asked us.
