Alex

"But-" I was cut off.

"There are no if's and's or but's in this, you don't get your grades up, you don't get to play, school policy," She said.

"The team would be nothing with out me!" I said.

"Well, if football really means something to you, you would get your grades up," She turned back to her computer and exited out of the page she was on.

"What do they have to be?" I asked.

"You at least have to get them to C's to be eligible to play, I'm not saying that you need to have straight A's, but if you want to play, you would do it..." She said to me.

"I know, I know," I said starting to stress out. "Can't you make an exception for me?" I asked hoping that she would do it for me.

"Alex, no," She looked at me deep into my eyes. I felt like she could see my soul. I turned away.

"Mrs. Clements, we will lose if I don't play," I looked out the window.

"Well, Mr. Turner, you should have thought about that before you decided to let your grades go," She was right.

"I know, but there is no way I can get my grades up by Friday!"

"I believe in you, and I know that with the help of your friends, you can get them up..." She said. I don't want to freaking tell my friends that I need to get my grades up of I will fail. What are you thinking, I thought to myself.

"No, they can't know about this," I admitted.

"Well, I will be talking to your coach about this," She told me.

"No," I said.

"Excuse me?"

"I mean, fine, whatever, but tell him that I will get my grades up, don't worry..."

"Okay, how do you plan to do that?" She doubted me. I stood up out of the chair and walked towards the door. I turned back to her.

"Watch me," I turned and walked out the door. I'm not sure what I expected to do, or if I expected her to follow me and get me in trouble because I slammed the door in her face.

I walked to my locker and took out my phone. I text my mom:

Mom, please come and pick me up, I can't be here anymore!

I walked into the boys bathroom and sat there until our next class started and no body would know that I was in there the whole time. I pretended like I was walking back to my locker when Linda, the woman at the desk in the office, came up to me.

"Alex, your mom is here to get you," She said to me.

"Oh, okay," I acted surprised, but almost skipped to my locker, happy that she got my text. I grabbed all my things and left a quick note in Emma's locker telling her that I went home early. I walked to the front office in the other building. I walked and my mom was standing there.

"Hi mom," I smiled.

"Are you ready to go?"

"Yeah," I said. My mom said goodbye to Linda, because they had started to become pretty good friends, we walked to the car. I sat in the passenger seat and took out my phone.

"What's wrong?" She asked me after about a three minute awkward silence.

"I don't know," I lied. "But thank you for picking me up..."
